I might go 3 large. I finally wouldn't mind one of these. I like the look, just didn't really have the money and I don't know what I am looking at for originality. I don't like being duped anymore..lol

Here's just the low hanging fruit from when somebody assembled a facsimile of a 1000R with the parts they had.

Tank issues. Do they even have a key to show the inside of the tank?

One appears top be some kind of stick on clip next to a drilled hole?

Sir... put the crack pipe and drill down please.

    R-1m.jpg
So the tank liner that was applied when the tank got painted with those wings apparently failed.

I think those might be 86 lowers, which is not a bad thing, just why. And another clip and hole. Cool. Maybe they got the lowers when they got the 86 solo cowl.

    R-2M.jpg

What we got going on here? Weird wear pattern on the disc. And notice the scrapes on the rotor hardware from hitting the caliper brackets? Something wasn't assembled right after the crash. And the speedo cable has pulled away from the inner snake. Awesome.

I wonder if that semi-fragile Comstar front wheel is even straight anymore. I have two bent ones on the wall of the third garage.

    R-3m.jpg

I would mention the sagging turn signal brackets and gouged up fork lowers and fender because of them, but it is very common. Thanks US-DOT and Honda for the stupidest brackets with the longest dumb winkers stays so they are guaranteed to get bent down and fuck everything up.

    R-5.jpg
I wouldn't believe mileage as far as I could pick up a 1000R and throw it. Who knows what has been put together.

I swear you can see how the wheel is off center in that pic and why the rotor bolts are grinding the caliper brackets.

Mirrors are at different jaunty angles. How fun! Upper cowl stay has been "adjusted".

But at least it turns over freely and doesn't have a title!

This is a very expensive and time consuming FULL refurb with an unknown engine and trans.

    Run.

If I was building one and this was available for parts to help complete, it is worth something. As a start of a project... ugh. Better start looking for the other 2 parts bikes.

Like I said I’m 30 minutes away from this gem.
I agree that it would make a good parts bike.
Unfortunately or fortunately I’m booked up.

    Ohhhhh... says squirrelman Rockefeller. Hah!

Dude. At this point it takes 2 or 3 to make a good one in this kind of condition. Buy the bikes, especially without titles, and do what you can. You can then sell the remaining good parts to keep more on the road and make some money back. But you gotta be realistic about the starting point. You're gonna buy a parts bike worth of shit off eBay anyway.

I own 3, so I'm doing my part!
