    Cool. How thick is that plate?

    Coincidentally, the red line on that tach is about right to help a VF500F engine keep surviving.

    1/8" . It firs underneath the ignition switch and it's mounting holes. Used a hole saw to match the size of the switch cylinder.

    im on the case and starting work on them now. theyre very clean overall as recieved, best ive seen, immaculate, clean in every way but possibly biological, but some notjob (not rcthirty, b4 him) decided to remove the throttle butterflies and shafts clear out of the carbs for reasons unknown. buggered up some screws and somehow removed a shaft cover that wasnt replaced, like this:

    july18==24 004.JPG kids, dont ever remove throttle shafts !!!!
    ^^^^^^^
    will cover with JB unless someone can tell me where to find the genuine kehin replacement part.

    but u should lube them like this:

    JULY---2---24 051.JPG

    spray lube, let it sit soaking-in on each side for a few minutes. this is most necessary on any carbs ultrasonically cleaned.

    been unusually busy this month, had 2 membrs' vfr700 carb sets to finish up b4 rcthirtys deal, but im on them now. im hoping to learn sumthin cuz rcthirty is a very sharp wrencher, and he probably didnt do anything wrong assembling his carbs, but we shall see.......

    :p:cool::D

    in addition, someone along the line has CHROMED the vacuum chamber tops, something usually looking weathered on most bikes, and IT LOOKS FAN-TAS-TIK, although it adds nothing significant to any performance specification.

    My wiring harness was butchered and didn't even have a fuse box so I ordered one and am in the process of installing it. The fuse box covers are seemingly unobtainable so I'm going to have to fabricate one. I'm going to try moldable plastic fuse box.jpg .

    WHOOOOOPS !! :eek:

    started disassembling the rack, found no fuel supply S-tube in place between 2 right side carbs, seriously MIA, and that might account for some of the drippages if not all.

    need to try ordering one online or maybe i can find a proper tube in my spares bins in usable condition.

    but the carbs ARE in immaculate condition, just sumbuddy got distracted during reassembly looks like. :cool:

    Good find SM. Strange, but if it was missing it was missing when I got it. I don't have one here.

    I finished the fuse panel cover. I made it from moldable plastic but that's a stretch. It certainly wasn't easy. It's basic but functional .
