Maybe your right, slows down in the winter a bit but here's a couple of sugesstions that I don't think have been covered yet...

1. What's the best oil to put in my VFR?
2. What's the best generation VFR?
3. Will Honda make ever make a VFR 1000?
4. What's the best tires to put on the VFR?
5. V-Tec- friend or foe?

 

Oh, OK. How about all of them at once.
1. synthetic after 8-10k
2. 5th
3. no
4. no idea
5. NO VTEC

 

Do I note a hint (or 5) of sarcasm?

1) Only whatever oil I suggest (4 quarts of WD-40, and a wadded-up coffee filter), and anyone that disagrees is an idiot!
2) 4th Gen (only 1994's specifically), and anyone that disagrees is an idiot!
3) Probably, but it'll be overweight and unnecessary, and anyone that disagrees is an idiot!
4) Only the ones I use (Dunlop K391's - I'm dating myself here...), and anyone that disagrees is an idiot!
5) Vtec is a sad attempt to create an I-4-like "peaky" powerband in the V-4 which has inherent broad torque spread, effectively defeating its best feature, and anyone that disagrees is an idiot!

Those are my opinions, and anyone that disagrees is an idiot!

1. Canola oil will help your VFR loose weight and keeps its arteries clean. Peanut oil makes things taste better though...do you want longevity or good taste?

5. Most of my Hondas have V-Tec: VFR, Odessey, civic, Accord, have it while the 87 prelude and the mower don't... I guess I'm living in the Switzerland of V-Tech.

Man I have always wondered about these topics. no one ever gives a definitive answer. there isn't one. Who can we ask? Where is the supreme being when you need her? hell we should ask Jeeves. Allright, I'll play. Who are the folks accepted as the best VFR tuners and technicians in the country? I'm sure the list starts and ends with the earlier generation VFR tuners because people were racing them, I.E. the tuners of the Fred Merkel, Freddie Spencer, and Bubba Shobert machines. As for the later gen machines, who are the currently accepted guru's of late gen VFR's? I've looked around a couple of times and can't find anything of substance. Any takers or opinions?

 

Thats pretty easy, Mike Valasco up here in the Pacific Northwest now, was the #1 man at HRC when the rc30-45 was in the stable.

After all the great oil comments, I've decided that I'll put some premium penut oil in mine this winter and anxiously await the spring.
Surely someone has some used after the Thanksgiving turkey fry season. Any help out there? I already have the gym sock to sieve it with.
Bonus: If I can get the potato in the crankcase, I'll enjoy some kettle chips next fall.

No mention of gear vs. chain driven cams here yet!
