I am a clothes hog. Recently, I have gotten some MotoGP stuff. I found the Corkscrew jacket (in Yellow to match my bike) for $159.00

and it is a nice jacket (perforated in the front and on the arms and has good CE armour - great Spring and Track Day leather Jacket). I got the MotoGP Grid Tex-Leather pants ($104.00 @ Closeout done by RideGear), and the MotoGp Apex leather pants ($199.99), got them both online at a closeout sale - These are some of the best riding pants if you can get a good fit. I love these pants and they are great riding pants, but you will need sport touring type boots. I finally found a pair of AlpineStars that fit my fat feet, but if I was going to do it again I would check the Teknic or Tourmaster touring sport boots. The Alpine Stars boots I have are the GoreTex Boot and they cost me about $125.00 online at Bob's Cycle - I like them, but since I am greedy and cheap the Tourmaster Sport Touring boot is about $107.00 and is waterproof rather than water resistant. I also have a Shfit M-1 Leather Jacket (CE Armour) that I really like, but no air vents. Fieldsheer is another favorite for textile & mesh jackets and the pricing is good. Since it is warmer here in NYC I have been wearing my PowerTrip Black Diamond perforated leather jacket. I also recently picked up a Motophoria Yellow Mesh jacket with non-CE armour locally, and it also has a seperate Rain and Thermal liner (on sale for $75.00 - I had to get it). There has been a lot of talk about jackets. What kind of pants are people wearing. I just got the Cortech DSX black denim jeans to go with my Cortech Black DSX jacket. I also have the Cortech Dekker pants (CE armour in knees and on the side of the hips - great pants but the snaps are weak. Even still my favorite riding jacket is still my FristGear Fire Leather jacket because of it's versitility - really great jacket and First Gear needs to start making it again (I always get compliments on the FirsGear Fire Leather Jacket). I have an Alpinestars Black label. Good padding, lots of pockets, zip out liner, and vents. Classy black and white.

Hein Gericke/First Gear. Can't go wrong, top notch. Honda puts THEIR name on them and then sells them as accessories. If that doesn't tell you anything, I don't know what else will. Just don't buy the Honda version as they are more expensive. Their leather is too thick/heavy for my temps much of the year but you'll love 'em in Canada.

JR is OK if you're on a budget.

That's ok. I still do it. When I first started on the site, I went back to some of the original threads and read my way up to the present sometimes replying. I figure there are lots of lurkers who are following the info and making comparisons that appreciate it...

Plus, better than starting a whole new thread on the same subject. This way preserves what has already been written, instead of rehashing the same old things.

I have an alpinestars Leather GP Plus jacket, it is nice and warm for winter and fits great, then I have a VANSON custom jacket with full armor and my own design, at $860 bucks, it is not cheap, but the thing is heavy. If I had to hit the pavement on anything, I would want it to be my Vanson.

I have a vanson with the perforated front.
I use it most of the time.
But when too hot, I bought one of those mesh ones which works just fine and keeps me cool.

I got me an ICON Pursuit in grey and black, the leather have breating holes all over, so air flows trough. If it gets hot, I can take the sleeves off (I wont try it), if it gets cold I just put the liner back on. I purchased it on clearance for 150.00.
