That disk is SCARY. I realize it prob doesn't really get used, but kinda surprised it passes TECH.

I'm told that it glows red when they have to use it to slow down a dyno, lol. Outside of that, yea, I doubt it ever gets touched much.

One woman that races ASRA in the midwest owns two of these bikes. One similar to this one (650cc) and one overbored to run in superbike. I will have to see if she has the same drilled disks as this one.

That is awesome. I didn't ever race against that bike, but that was my goal as well, to lighten the shit outta my SV. I got down to sub 350 before I needed a full set of bodywork for Miller. That added weight, but most of my friends who rode my bike would say "jeezus, that is light, very knifey!". The handling was perfected by a front 17" Marchesini...man she handled well. Trail brake like a mother. :).
That disk would not have passed AFM tech, maybe not even WERA.
Cool pick up. If I ever see my old bike, I would buy it back if it wasn't trashed.

I'm guessing the reputation of the rider(s) helped get the rear rotor through tech on a few occasions. I'm interested to know what both my SV and my VF weigh. I bought another bathroom scale to use and realized I'm an idiot because I need two scales that don't auto-shutoff after a while in order to do it.... so now I have a spare bathroom scale I guess.

Just ask Mr. TWF Racing where your old bike is. He probably knows!

You can use one scale. Weigh the front and and block the rear tire the same height. Then repeat the opposite, and add them together. Not exact, but more accurate than you think it would be.
