Does anyone have a pillion seat cowl for the "86" they're willing to part with? (I know, but I had to try! lol)

That's why you always put it out there and ask. Did the same on a 8 spoke VFR wheel a while back (on the Hawk forum) and got lucky!

Squirrelman had a good idea to get someone with a 3D printer to copy one and then sell the copies

He does have a great idea but I'll have to let him pilot that ship. I just want to place that emblem on top my girl again....sit back and smile.

 

I eliminated the side tabs on the VF1000Rs. They want to jump out and then rub on the outside of the cowl. Buh-bye.

 

I remember the tabs popping out now, on track days. I'll see how she fits when I get it home. If the fit was so rude looking, I would be inclined to find another seat and do your trim job instead. Thats shit's flippin masterful Dude!

 

Having extra seats and the ability to save the original gives me some freedom to experiment.

 

If I get some made what variations would be required?

 

Could it be the tabs arnt long enough?
@Thumbs mentioned getting some made, I think I'll be set for the rest of my days.

 

I guess. The VF1000R seat cowl fits really good compared to the RC24/26, but it still found a way to bounce out.

That was a tense few moments with my dremel in my hand before I just said "fuck it". Hard to start grinding on perfect seat cowl, but harder to see the tab out and starting to scratch the rear fairing.

 

I hear you, When I started grinding tabs off my starter clutch...!

 

But as for my seat cowl I'll be considering usage factor, I don't think the bike will have any milage with the cowl in place. I won't have to trim the tab.
