In the military we have saying: piss poor execution of the right idea.
If your going to do something that is not normally done, your execution must be flawless to succeed. otherwise you get to be "that guy".....

The guy with the Honda car set up appears to have at least thought this one out.

The CBR on the CRX/moto transport looks a lot safer than Mr. Protege with tie down straps...

I think you're right about the suicide, too.

My money is on the car's hot exhaust melting the nylon strap.

Likely ad: "For Sale: Dirt bike. Never been off road or raced. Fell over once when not being ridden. Perfect."

While it is indeed sad to witness the un-necessary destruction of a perfectly good motorcycle, I like it, make that I LOVE IT when this crap happens to people. Hopefully the nimrod who did this will realize that he is indeed remarkably stupid & really shouldn't do crap like this. I doubt it.

Most stupid people are too stupid to realize they are in fact stupid until it's pointed out to them by way of a tragedy of some kind. Example: I drove to see my parents for Turkey Day. As I was approaching the onramp for I99 in Bedford, PA, there was this moron going in reverse down the ramp. I guess he didn't want to get on I99. I drove around him on the shoulder at about 40MPH leaning on the horn. The next guy wasn't so lucky. He plowed into the idiot going backward. I'm guessing the guy who ran into him was going about 25MPH. Two destroyed cars just because one idiot is too dumb to realize going in reverse down an onramp is stupid & the other idiot is too stupid to notice a car going backward down an onramp. Both idiots got what they deserved & I drove merrily on my way.

    KC-10 FE out...

Maybe idiot number 2 was trying to teach a lesson to idiot number 1 (backing up the offramp)? If the backing up idiot would have been avoided by all cars, he would have went merrily on his way without a clue that he is indeed a imbecile. If indeed the person you named the other idiot, might have been doing us all a favor.

Admit it, if you had a old beat up pickup without any plates (or witnesses) wouldn't you just love to plow that idiot off the road and keep on going....or any other people who do exhibit such idiotic behavior on the road?

When I see someone do something such as you mentioned, it makes me want to drag then out of the car and flog them with anything within reach....

to provide illustrative narrative to KC's point...Homer Simpson said it best:
"Why do things that happen to stupid people keep happening to me?"

I was the guy in the old beat-up Jeep Wagoneer the didn't back off when idiot with family in new mini-van. on a rural road that goes to two lanes at a traffic light to get cars through, idiot is passing as many folks on the right as possible I let one, then two folks in, but decided this loser was pushing his luck. He passes me as the dashes stop and he continues on the shoulder, puts his signal on and begins to drift left... into my right bumper as I did not brake to allow him to merge.

He drove his new Ford Aerostar minivan into the chrome bumper of my rusted AMC, scratching and denting the heck out of his rear corner panel.

We pull over on the shoulder, he gets out and walks back to my truck where I crack the window to listen to him tell me I hit him. I tell him that he failed to yield and drove into my bumper. After much yelling on his part and my calm requests for his insurance information, he got in his van and drove off as his wife threw punches at him. I still can see her arms flailing up and down on him. Probably was momma's daily driver he'd just broken-in.

This was pre-cellphone era, or we'd likely have had LEO come help decide the party at fault.

Never done anything like that since as I can afford nicer vehicles and just don't care to make a point like that... maybe I'm just older and don't want the confrontation hassle afterward.
