    Hmmm... lemme see...

These two are the best. The short one is great for getting in behind a radiator. 12mm head, 18mm plug.

    That's the "extras" drawer.

^^^ cheap stamped steel, a proper socket fits alot better.

factory toolkits are great for repairs on the road or basic maintence but not good enough in the shop.

Truer words have never been spoken.

I'm experimenting some while also building up a proper set of tools.

Would you believe......of all 4 RC26's...only one of them came with a tool kit. Guess which tool was missing though.....lol....

I know people who remove the toolkits because of “weight” or simply say not needed…. Those same people have asked me for “tool assistance “ on the road .
Many bikes I have bought don’t come with tool kits … I got one simply don’t understand it

I almost forgot that I have some parts coming - all from an RC15 - and includes a tool kit! :)

That plug wrench from the RC15 will be your favorite. It has (or it did) the rubber insert that grabs the plug and helps center the tool.

The 6-1/2" wrench from your purchase you might trim down a touch and have a 12mm wrench bolt head tacked to it. The nice thing about a 12mm head is that it allows you to use a smaller wrench (like SM's fav) and get more of a turn. And flip the wrench over for that extra bit of movement.

And SM, unless the engine is out, or the fuel tank and radiator are removed, the plug wrench out of the kit is the one I'm grabbing out of the tool chest, and not a "proper socket". Every time.

The wrenches with the holes are usually only good on engines where the plug is sticking way out, like lawn equipment or old 2-strokes.

Once my hand finishes healing up and I can get back to wrenching, I will report back with photos. I think I have everything I need now to complete what's needed to return the bike to operational status. But hell....you never know...lol...

    I know I'm close anyway!

Appreciate ALL the input here. Like I said.....I'm trying to learn as much as possible so you've all been very helpful - especially the Captain.....

Tinkering with these V-4's is pretty cool though. I'm enjoying the ride.....:)
