    Ha!

If it could run perfect mechanically, I wouldn't mind the cosmetics.

    To a price point obviously

If somehow that mileage is correct, wouldn't mind that engine.

It has been for sale for 2 weeks, so no body is interested. I may let it cook a few more weeks then lowball it. Shit can you get ANY parts for these anymore? That VF500 was such a bitch.

    Nope. /s

Yes. Mechanical, sure. But need the surround around the taillights? Hah! Need the side panels that have the mesh? Bring $$$$$ and patience.

You could get the bike 100% rideable for not much real money, providing the radiators are ok and the forks aren't pitted toast. The rear shock is junk. A design that works decent on the light 500, quickly pisses it's panties on the 1000.

If you're looking to do a correct resto (which I know you like)... you're gonna be backwards FAST. You would have to get creative on bodywork and be willing to compromise. BUT, they are pretty satisfying to work on.

I eBay-ed "Aaron" back from the dead, mechanically, fairly cheap after it's left side was ground off at freeway speeds and then sat for years.

Might be a fun rebuild. Black doesn’t look half bad with the double headlights.

I found a nearly dead ‘01 at a junk yard. He wanted $800. I told him to text when he is down to $150.

In typical FB fashion, no response from seller. I didn't even use the "is it still available" button.

I have no idea why these twats list and then forget about it.

    its still out there jim.......

might turn up at a local scrapyard

most quick black sprayjobs yield easily to chemical removers, some even to gasoline on a rag.

My friend's Allstate moped owner's manual states to use a gasoline soaked rag to wipe down the bodywork to clean it.

It is still technically "The Holidays". A week from now, twat will be the correct tag. Still better than OfferUp.
