Do yourself a favor and head over to VFRD. In the downloads section are Factory Honda Service Manuals. If you don't find what you're looking for, let me know.

I ended up buying a manual from eBay. I know these are available as downloads, but something about having it on paper without the need to eat up printer ink influenced my decision to go in this direction.

What I like about this purchase is the manual came with the original binder plus it has the service bulletins in back!

No doubt it came from a motorcycle repair shop - and has the fingerprints and smudges on many of the pages to prove it! :)

The last divider is for the "Set-Up Instructions".

Nothing there but I have seen these on eBay as a separate purchase and have always wondered what they are. Anyone here know?

    Thanks!

Instructions for when you are uncrating a new unit, or taking delivery of an assembled example, for the showroom floor.

We did both. Picked them up still in crates from a warehouse in Seattle. Or a company called KGM would assemble some of our units out of the crate, but not completely "set up".

OK thanks - that makes sense. Doesn't sound like anything for me to worry about at this juncture.

Not unless you came across a VF750F still in the crate. But you would probably need a
    "Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)"
    section too.

    Ha ha.......no kidding!

I'm pretty happy with the 2 that I have right now. I feel so fortunate to have been able to get this Euro too. Both bought in Daytona just a few miles up the road. Can't ask for much more than that!

The condition this Euro is in still amazes me. Working on it today again after getting parts yesterday. It's just so clean and most of it still looks new. So refreshing compared to some of the others I have.....

Well today I thought I'd be able to replace the starter solenoid with a newer version but the plug-in doesn't fit so instead of trying to force the situation I'll just wait for an OEM replacement from eBay. Partszilla is still showing availability but I can get a new one for ~$30 less from eBay. I had ordered a used OEM but that seller hasn't even showed that it was shipped yet, even though it was ordered days ago. So I ordered another today. Holidays don't help much when it comes to shipping.

I have other stuff to do on the bike so will just wait for that part to come.

It was working OK the day I started the bike and then poof just stopped working.

I thought I could pry off the bracket from the OEM and swap it to the new one but that didn't work.

Are these HiFlo oil filters popular to use on these machines?

HiFlo are quality filters. As are Emgo. When you read stories about disecting all the different filters, they score really good and are almost identical in construction to the Honda filter.

You could rearrange the wires on your solenoid connector to match how the aftermarket solenoid is wired.

The 2 power wires will go to the tabs with continuity to the battery side of the solenoid.

Thanks but I will just wait for an OEM to arrive. It will be easier for me that way...lol.....trust me!

I have other things to work on anyway, like I said.

So far I feel I've been very fortunate with the work I've faced on my bikes. A miracle considering how skilled I am at screwing things up because of my lack of experience and overall lack of understanding the big picture.

I know that sounds very philosophical but it really defines my reality, IMHO.

Thanks for your helpful and informative post and suggestions though - much appreciated! :)

That filter was the one on the bike when I bought it. The oil looked very nice and the filter did too.

On my early bikes that still use fusible links, I crimp on some eyelets and install one of these.

Pretty much just for convenience and consistency for spares in tank bags. I know the lid can carry a spare link, but I've had some crack but not break and give me intermittent symptoms when hot in less than ideal locations.

Started work on the clutch today. Nasty inside so hooked up a new aftermarket master cylinder/lever assembly for the time being and cleaned the slave. Taking a while to bleed. Watching some football the rest of the day.

    Clutch working nicely now!

Started work on the brakes......check out the inside of the MC!

Like I said before......I bought a set of aftermarket clutch and brake assemblies and already used one for the clutch.

I will be using the brake one now and then just rebuild the original down the road.

Looks like the hex head fasteners on the brake assembly are a little 'wallered out' so I applied some penetrate and will sit overnight.

    Clutch:

    Yuk!
    IMG_3460.JPG

I forgot that the seller had given me this small box of parts to go with the bike. I had wondered where the fuel tank fasteners had gone to when I removed it...lol.....forgot about this box.....
