Is this a no-no to lift up the front so I can do the tire stem work?

No center stand on the bike......

I lift on VFR headers all the time. Zero issues.

Jam a piece of wood between the headers and oil pan if your worried.

OK thanks! I have plenty of wood scraps here so will try to do that, if possible.

Well once again I avoided the task at hand because I was able to get air in the front tire enough to ride the bike - which I did. Around the neighborhood enough to ascertain she's roadworthy. I decided to run her over to my storage unit - about 5 miles away - and did so without incident. She'll stay there until I get some more work done on my other bikes plus a couple other things.

I didn't even bother putting the lower fairings back on because I know I will have her back on the lift again soon enough to continue with PM and repair stuff, like the Tach that doesn't work. Speedo and all other gauges and lights all working so hopefully something small.

I gotta say though. This bike is wicked fast! Scary fast! You could get yourself in a pickle quite quickly!
