Finally got to use everyone else’s method for brake piston removal. Sooo much easier, since one of these was seized completely. Thanks forums peeps! image.jpg

I think hydraulics still hooked up. bmart, the old crusty, nasty shit we work on laughs at compressed air. I have an old master cylinder mounted to a tube that I keep bled just for this type of scenario. Either I forgot to fucking pump them almost all the way out when the brakes were still operational on the bike or the brake system was so fucked getting a bleed to pump them out was futile. Or a 3rd scenario, I bought some used calipers that compressed air won't touch. I think being in that last example so many times is why I finally set up a spare master.

another possibile method uses a pressurized grease gun to force pistons out.

Yeah I've seen that one. I rather clean brake fluid out of the caliper than grease.

Sorry I should have defined what I was doing. I reattached the rear brakes master to the caliper and used the foot level to hydraulically push out the stuck pistons. One was moving more so I placed the pad and tool to keep the “loose” piston from coming out. Worked really well.
I am pretty sure air would not have worked. When I end up with a spare master I will make a set up similar to Capt.

    - caliper stripped, rear pegs removed and everything vapor honed. Just need to buy the all of the brake lines and caliper seals. Found NOS rear pads for $10 shipped on Croober. My son is collecting parts and sending them from Japan on Monday. image.jpg 05CED58F-B6BD-4028-8928-4869DB2C7821.jpeg

Before I reset the bike on the stand I wanted to finish right hand rear set area. Although I don’t have a brake line yet I am testing the layout for reservoir hose. The OEM tube and reservoir are toast so I am going with the poor man’s HRC kit.
Still debating on OEM coolant tank or my Tyga reserve tank kit. Since the NC35 is pimped out with aftermarket, I want to keep this stock, but I can’t get the tank to look any better. Thoughts are welcome.

I've bleached some back to a more acceptable color (92 VFR). I've also just painted some BAD ones black with Krylon Fusion that I didn't need to see "thru" them for fluid height, but were kinda visible with the bodywork on. Easy to just pop the cap and look inside every now and then. It's not like I'm doing a pre-ride 100 point inspection every time.

Nevermind. I thought you were typing about brakes, not coolant.
