MotoBatt makes great stuff and is super to deal with also. I've been using them for years with superb battery life.

Battery arrived and was installed..............except NOW the battery cables aren't the right length and eyelets not facing the right way.

Looks like I will have to fab up 2 new ones.

Does this look right to you all, except for the cables?

My last battery was lower and the cables were OK.

A bit frustrating for little stuff like this not going right......o_O

There should be some adapters in with the Motobatt that change the orientation of the terminals...
Sorry it's not a better photo but the only one I have and I've since swapped to a different battery!

It's a bit late to the party and the Motobatt is a good battery but it should be mentioned that while the "proper" battery for the RC24/26/35/37 is a YB12A-B the 'B' at the end refers to where the drain pipe sits. If you get an AGM it doesn't *HAVE* a drain pipe and so you can happily fit a YB12A-A which are easy to find in AGM fitments!

For example Tanya batteries in the UK list two batteries for YB12A-B, both "wet" and at £48 while searching for YB12A-A brings up 8, half AGM and an AGM being the cheapest at £30! I'd go cheap nasty AGM any day over even a Yuasa "wet" battery. The Motobatt for the record is £65 here, that's quite a premium over all the other brands, I'm not sure its going to last twice as long as the cheaper £30 ones.

The only difference between the "A" and ""B" is what side the vent is on.

Obviously not an issue on a AGM

Dude... Pull the caps. The terminals can go on either side.

If your last battery was lower it wasn't the right battery.

My MotoBatt fits perfect, no mods or different cables needed

Here in the US MotoBatt is a good value, not a premium.

I have the clips and just now went out to see if they'd help and it almost looks like I "might" be able to connect the negative cable....will try again tomorrow. It just seemed a tad too short, hence my post. That positive one is a crazy short distance and I see you have it attached but I'd have to compress mine into some kind of tight 'u-turn/loop' to get it attached and even then I'm not sure I could do it, as it should be. Appreciate the reply and photo!

I have the correct orientation of pos. and neg. That's not the issue. Cables are not reaching on the negative side and the positive cable is too long....just doesn't seem like how the configuration would come from the factory is all I am saying.....

Maybe my positive cable is just so old it's not bending as it would normally....not flexible enough......

Sorry. I was on my phone and I was tired. Thought you still had the plugs in place.

It didn't come with adapters to make the terminals vertical?

No worries, I get tired too and today have some freaking back pain.......which hopefully will be gone tomorrow because I have a lot to do.......

Love to see a pic of your battery with cables attached, if possible. If not no worries......

Here's how the big H says to do it (although I know it is unmanly to read a manual...).

The MotoBatt is installed in the RC26 that has the one piece tail. I don't feel like pulling it, it's not the most convenient set up. But it just goes right in with the supplied fittings, no mods or different cables needed.

Here's what I have available in Turn Signals.

Full set front and rear and a couple FII rears. I can't guarantee any of these are the exact length leads for a 86/87 VFR, but they look appropriate. Plus the 2 long front stays.

They all have some small scratches / dings but they are not cracked.

Those look really nice! I'm interested in buying all 6, if you are willing to part with them. Just shoot me a price and we'll go from there. My ship to zip is 32169. Thanks!

Thanks - I now know that the battery cables I have are correct. I took a pic of the setup on my newest bike and it looks like those already posted - except for the wet battery......

Except it's missing a bolt at the bottom and sagging. No one wants a saggy bottom.

Stick a new one in! Think it should be an M6 x 14 bolt (but a bit hard to tell from the fiche) and then I think a nut on the back (the 88/89 has a speed nut but looking at the fiche I think the 86/87 has a nut instead).
