I have a 2004 vfr800 am having trouble with getting power. When the keys on no power to lights horn or anything but I have power at the starter relay fuse and red fuze and fuse b. My test light seems to be flashing when I touch any positive wire though.

What is the state of the Red connector at the Starter Relay. Is the Red Wire spade connector making good contact and not showing signs of burn or overheating?
Also, what voltage are you measuring at the Horn and Headlight Fuse, ignition to On?

I've seen your posts your very knowledgeable on these bike. Yes I've already checked the red spade and it is a lil damaged but I jumpered it with 12 volts and still nothing. I think I might be missing the head light relay as there is only 2 relays in the front of the bike and a black connector disconnected dangling freely. Is there another relay on the bike I could swap over to it for testing purposes

I think I just figured out a possible cause for the speedo. The wheel speed either sensor or how it tells the speed if the wheel is on backwards as in I just looked and the arlow for the front tire is rolling the wrong way. Meaning the hins need to be switch to other fork member

You're missing a headlight relay! WTF. The three relays in front of the Instrument Panel are Hi Beam right, Turn Relay in the middle, then Lo Beam Relay left, make sure you have at least a relay in the Lo Beam position!

What speedo issue, no mention of that! Make sure the ABS pulser ring is on the Right Side aligned with the Wheel Speed Sensor. And No, the ABS has nothing to do with your speedo on a 6gen! You have a separate Speed Sensor for speed readout driven off the front sprocket bolt head via a teflon coupling, check that the coupling isn't damaged.

Have you downloaded the Service Manual? As previously mentioned measure those voltages, it will determine if you have an Ignition Switch problem or bad wire connection between Main Fuse and Power to your sub fuses.
Do you have a wiring diagram of your bike. The ABS version has some different wiring to the standard version.

I don't have a manual yet. I usually find manuals for all my bikes for free but this one has proven difficult. Gonna check that coupling in the am. I'm an ase certified mechanic in autos so it def helps out with working on other vehicle whatever the case might be
