    Dredging up and old story. I lied, I wasn't 100% complete. I was 90 or so. Now I am 94.5% . hahahaha
Rear brake line, reset head bearings, and reduce angle on muffler (more welding).
Front fender added. I figure this bike will be a keeper and I will keep modding until she is 100% in my book. Here is the latest. IMG_3888.JPG IMG_3881.JPG IMG_3883.JPG IMG_3892.JPG

I may go with a light grey or black seat in the future. Lol thanks again guys! It will be many moons before I get back to this gal, but in the mean time I will just enjoy this level of completion.

I still like the red, but I think the grey like I just put on the VFR700FII would look nice as well.

    UPDATE!!

Today was the first real world test of every major function on the bike and it has so far kicked ass!!

42* when I left for work at 6:45 (dark). Headlight, instruments all worked as expected (even the clock was on time). She hardly got out of the bottom zone of coolant temp. Lovely to ride even when it is cold out. The windscreen is better down low then up high unless you tuck down and then high is better than low. buffeting vs cold.

At lunch I had to go save my wife from being locked out of her Jeep. It was 82* and low traffic. Lower the windscreen and damn. No buffeting. yay. Next thing I know the bike starts cutting out. I didn't believe my gauge when I left home thinking it had broken at E. Nope did 37 miles on E and then switched to reserve to get all the way to the fuel station. Everything worked as I hoped. Gauge works, reserve works, and ON works. yay!

Next was the ride back to work. 85* and tons of city traffic. Biked swiftly through traffic and when she heated up, turned on my manual fan toggle and she dropped right back to 1/3 temp range. Yay!

Had an "o-shit" with a cager and she stopped on a dime. I was concerned because she is the heaviest bike I ride and I wasn't sure how she would react. Did really well and I was thankful of the rotor and tire choices I made. 2023-11-02 13.28.49.jpg

All in all the bike worked like it came off the factory floor. I am super stoked! Hopefully a nice easy ride home and it will have been a great riding day! Now she cooling off in the shade. :)

When I restored my VFR750 last year, I had a similar "oh sh1t, it's going to die" moment. Muscle memory kicked in and I remembered about the reserve tap; I haven't owned a bike with carbs/reserve for so many years that I initially just thought there was a problem. This one highlighted that the low fuel light wasn't working, which turned out to be a broken wire.

I have so many carb bikes, I reach down if I sense a running issue even if it is my FI bike. Glad it was only a wire. My gauge does not accurately reflect fuel used. It stays full for quite a ways and then it races through the mid section of the gauge. Finally it sits at E for roughly 35 miles and then drops below E and hits reserve. I am just glad it works, so I don't feel obligated to work on it. :)

I forgot, my welder at work is also going to measure for a mini cut and weld to lower the muffler a bit to line up with the rear bodywork. yeah!! Anything lower will help a lot. It is slightly warping the underside of my turn signal.

Your fuel gage sounds like every one of my VFRs and my ST.

Another break in the rain, so I rode to work and had my coworker/ welder go at the exhaust one more time. lol

The angle is just slightly off from the bodywork, but I am so burnt out working the exhaust so I will leave it be for a while/ever.

I also ditched the mini HRC sticker as I have enough stickers already on the bike. hahaha

The lowered exhaust also allows me to use the powder coated hanger that matches the frame as well!! I hastily put this together so... yes I need to straighten out the hanger loop.

    Still to do:
Rear brake line (that needs to be shorter) in the works.
Stickers are also going to be swapped/removed soon.
    Address Head bearing install issue.
Lower the fork tubes 10mm maybe - she is a little floaty up front.
Mess with suspension finally and then a good detailing.
I should post a video of the Tyga sound. I think it is the best sounding bike out of my various rides. She sounds fookin mean. Not sure if Sudco mean, but mean!

That looks great. The angle is nice. Because of how the side cover starts to curve down towards the footpeg and is not one long straight line, it works really good.

Looks good. Don't change exhaust angle. It is perfect. Rear brake line mechanically kept away from that tire? It looks...long!
