Can't have too many Gen3 VFRs! I still want a red one and I got two. Nice verk and excellent pictures, side bar: I never keep track of what I got into a project. Thats just me though. Peace

    Thanks dewd.

I don't either. But how the timing went down on acquiring the 1990 and 1992 I wanted to track how my "plan" went to get to the end game; a nice keeper of a bike I always wanted on a budget. I think it went good. I didn't think I would get a chance to own a pretty nice RC36-I without seeking one out and spending a fair amount of money.

It all started by buying the 1990 for the rear wheel essentially. Anything more was gonna be a bonus, I knew I could sell the wheel for what I paid.

That is like my 93 I bought, I had a trailer hooked up the night before to my grand marquis, I went there with my father, I knew the bike cranked over so it was not locked up. If everything went into the toilet, I would have covered my investment of $500 with the sale of the 8 spoke rear wheel. Ten years later and 20,000 trouble free miles, I think I made out pretty damn well. I was looking for a gen3 bike on CL for years btw, when I found this one.

How loud is it? I remember ditching mine on the CB-1. It was just too much.

On a V4, on the end of stock headers... fuckin nice. Deeper, mellower than the D&D, which sounded great. I'll try and post a vid before the rains come this weekend.

Back from a ride. Bike sounds better and runs better with the larger Sudco muffler.

are HAMMERED. I polished the fuck out of them as placeholders. White primer... why Honda?! They don't have any rash, but they show years of tire changes and poor cleaning technique.

On a ride last weekend, there's an optional, twisty section of a highway that has been a favorite for years. On the right day you can peel off from behind a car and rejoin the highway in front.

Going west (down), there's a series of esses before a downhill right. I'm leaned over pretty good, but not really hanging off (tires are decent but I wouldn't call them "fresh"), more a knee out and a butt cheek off..... and "OOOOOOF!" Felt that! HARD jolt and the front end stepped out a good amount. Kept looking thru the corner and kept my line. At the light down the highway after rejoining, glanced down and it happened to be visible for me to see. "HOLY SHIT!" I yell to my buddy.

Had to be a good size rock, you can see the impression it left on the tire. We were heading west and the sun was starting to get lower, we were in the trees and I was looking for my apex. Pretty surprised I didn't even get a glimpse of it though as I was approaching.

Happy you didn’t go down … back in 1982 I hit a dead bird on the road … front end washed out. Road rash deluxe! My poor Members Only Jacket took a beating!

Glad that you did the right things and that it worked out! My worst one...obviously happened at lean, knee down on the little VTR. Harumph!

I got married in a pair of Perry Top Siders, they came in a flannel blue bag and have some gold emblem on the sole.
You got lucky Capt' I hit a cobble stone once and it bounced me out of the seat, but that was going straight. Hit a deer, a bat and ran into a doode with my pinkie knuckle on my throttle hand. Nuff war stories, glad your ok.
