Hi All, I recently stripped bodywork for a good cleanup and also swopped out the MPH gauge faces for KPH ones (still struggling to align the needles properly)
Anyway, put it all together and now I can't get the bike to rev out above about 6k in any gear under load. There is no spluttering or missing, it just won't rev. Oh, I also welded up all the holes in the underbelly exhaust collector. What could it be? It feels strangled, but the muffler is open. I've checked the obvious stuff, connections, plugs, cleaned carbs etc.
Bit of a head scratcher. The collector clogged?
I thought there might be a throttle position sensor gone dickey but she doesn't have one. Is there some kind of limiter in the clocks I've screwed with when changing faces? Suggestions please. Thx, Steve

Muffler seems clear, no peanuts rattling around inside
Cleaned out the carbs when she first started with this and no issues there. Rebuilt them last year so all good. This is more strangulation than fuel shortage. Very sudden after the deep clean and clock work.

I would check the diaghrams on the slides. They have to be in the right position and located in the groove. If they leak it won't rev.

I removed the muffler, disconnected the clocks and did a quick blast. Definitely missing slightly and still would not rev out. Got back home and stripped off the tank and airbox and started to isolate each plug until I found rear right not responding. Changed that plug, reinstalled everything except the bodywork, and now to test again.
There is a short strip of tar road about 3km away but to get there is really crap dirt road which blows fork seals if ridden too vigorously. Will know more later when the mist lifts.
