Hi guys , today i went for spin , everthing alright , but after hitting 190/200 km/h the engine stop pulling and sounds like working on 3 cylinders . Stoped the bike , turn off the engine , checked for something wrong but didnt see anything wrong.
Fired the engine again and was running fine.
This happen once in the past in the same circumstances.
I know that Stator and rectifiers blade conectors are a little rusty , and i hear a ticking sound from the rear cylinders , like sparks.

Im sure the coils , spark wires are old stock, can be this?

Can someone give some hints on this ?

T Snap-On.jpg fox.jpg he plugs for the stator (three yellow) and your rectifier (three yellow - red/black) going into the battery on the right side of the bike have connectors, I eliminated these and hard soldered them. I use clear shrink tubing from the aviation shop I work at, kinda cool as you can see the solder joint. I use the butt connectors along with a crimp and solder. Good idea to upgrade to a Mosfet regulator. There are tons of articles out there. Keep up the good work and enjoy the journey.

Thx for the reply . Already replaced the stock Rectifier with a upgraded Yamaha R1 .

I really need to check all connectors from the bike , special the ones that are ignition/ coil related.

try switching plugs around or replace the one in the cylinder youve concluded has quit firing. it might be helpful to test pickup coil resistance [at the plug] when engine quits.

I have fired the engine and all runs fine. But almost certain that if I pull hard again it will happen again..

I really need to dip all connectors in white vinager+salt to clean all those oxydized copper and solder them. Also measure coils and wires.

are we betting this an electrical, not mechanical or fuel-related problem ?

    It seems that way.

Today I removed the tank and this was what I discovered:

    - Spark plugs torqued by hand ( almost loose)
    - green plug not plugged correctly ( near fuel pump)
    - Missing band on carb insulator/boot
    - Alternator conector is very rusty .
    - Cylinder 1/3 plugs wet and dirty .

carry on  we expect youll have your problem sorted by next week, so get busy.

possibly a problem with one of the pickup coils if two plugs loose spark.

Today I have tested all Coils , and seems they all are good ann into the stock values ( Honda manual) .
Also tested outside making ground with the spark plugs tip , and I have spark.
