Well, Thursday I made a impulse buy, sight unseen (from pictures only). 1986 Suzuki GSXR750. Price was very good (for a reason). So I rolled the dice and bought it over the phone from a salvage dealer. Bike #20 (what is wrong with me?)

Clean title, but thats about the only thing that is clean. This is by far the roughest project I will have taken on, it turns over, thats about all I can say. looks like it sat outside for a long time.

Carbs are fury and corroded outside but they not seized, most of the bike is there. Engine is from an 88 GSXR750 as far as I can tell from the engine code.

These are getting very hard to find in any condition, nice ones are bringing silly $

Here's the youtube video of Fridays bike buy adventure

Thanks, if it runs without smoking and knocking, it will have been a good buy -- fingers crossed

Im undecided on colour schemes yet, il cross that bridge once I know it runs.

Traditional '86 750 Blue and White
'86 750 Red Back and silver
'86 GSXR1100 Red Blue and silver
or '86 Skoal Bandit Green and White

skoal bandit or blue.. I really liked that skoal on auction. It is always worth a try, you never know Stray. I lucked out on quite a few bikes lately, so why not.
    Fingers crossed!

I was also trying to get a Rothmans NS400R from Iconic, but for the life of me those guys wouldn't give me a price even though they said they'd sell it prior to auction. Strange, they said shipping would be too much. (but that really isn't their call to make), I was fine with the shipping quote I got, but 2 weeks later and still no price on the NS

I rode one of those back in the day. Possibly the last bike I have ridden that got into a spontaneous tank-slapper without provocation. I am not counting my VF400F as that nearly broke my thumbs off but it only happened when I landed after taking a hump-backed bridge at an imprudently high speed with much flying involved...

Optimal riding gear only on a Gixxer. Non of that sissy boy safety gear. Oakleys, wife beater, and some dolphin shorts please. Should the Gixxer just be part of the Florida State Flag?

I'm gonna try but I don't have high hopes I'll actually be able to even look at it. Not off work for another 4 hours.
