Off the bench for now, but I have hit a snag. NC30 tank and NC35 fairing mount don’t play with each other. Might have to make a custom something. Booo here is a shot of current status. image.jpg

And…. I got all my gear for my own Vapor Hone Machine. I don’t have it dialed in yet but I like what I see so far. Judge it. Before anything.
    Same side 5 min.
    Backside combo 5 min/ didn’t clean.

More vapor hone. I am still working on best process and pressures. I figured since these are going with the Hawk I might as well test the hone and make them nice. image.jpg

An actual update. So the kit was for an NC30 which meant it has different fairing mount boss locations on the frame than a 35.. For some odd reason I had ordered the NC30 fairing mount ages ago from Tyga. Maybe a Hawk conversion, not really sure. The 35 fairing mount won’t work with a 30 fuel tank so I improvised and had my buddy weld little extension tabs onto the NC30 fairing mount to fit a 35 frame. Little measuring and viola! Behold my evil creation. I also added some nice delrin spacers up top. We had just enough steering head clearance as well. I like it. 6F42EBD1-5D42-46AE-AA7C-0A644336ACA5.jpeg 34222248-F647-4D67-A81C-3D943EC93922.jpeg 0A107A93-2842-4A16-B80E-5B67EF6EE721.jpeg

Did a little shake down run. Shifts smooth and runs true. Time for wiring a manual fan switch and front turn sigs.

Stage 1 complete, temp sensor not registering. Wanted to get an aftermarket anyway. Here is with the turn signals and ready for test ride. Ultra cozy seat as well. image.jpg image.jpg

Made it out finally. Left the house and realized I forgot to mount my California plate..haha Got that on and hit THE HWY 1 and went about 35 miles up. Then I was headed home and blew right past our house. I honked and then punched it to 13k revs. About 4 miles of sweepers!! This bike was worth the price of admission. Only 1 other bike I own puts a bigger smile per mile on my face. Oh and no leaks, temp gauge does work and I need to get a custom seat made that actually has foam. I am basically sitting on frame rails. hahaha No trouble with the heat shield but it was only 68 out. The stickers are intact, you can all relax! IMG_5873.JPG IMG_5871.JPG IMG_5880.JPG

Keep an eye on your subframe. Don't know if Tyga made any changes, but there were a few broken ones popping up in various things that I happened to read. I have the aluminum stock style, but it doesn't have any real miles on it to give a personal report, and it prolly never will.

Will do. The miles I ride, I may never see anything but good to know. It is steel and seems very robust.

I think it was the original ones when that kit first came out. But just thought I'd throw it out there. The Tyga guys probably looked at the few failures and put the fix to it. They seem to be that kind of company. I have the aluminum stocker copy, but it has quite a bit more bracing and I've taken a decent chunk of weight out of the stuff that connects to it. Because it usually covered up it would rarely enter your mind, but I have still thought about it.
