So while bored on the nets last night while I watched MotoGP, my wife found this locally. It came with a friend as well. 6867DDC9-F154-4A1E-AAF4-7EBA009CED41.jpeg C07AA0F8-3128-493A-B822-C59A5974C405.jpeg

So we have 1 1986 VFR750 and 1 Yamaha RD60 2 smoker. Both titled in Cali (rare sometimes).
    VFR SPECS:
Honda Hop up kit installed in 87. 800+cc. Although I cannot verify so….ok… She does pull hard AF on the top end.
    22k, purrs like a kitten.
PM wheels. Welded aluminum, 17 front and rear.
    Fork stabilizer
    SSbraided lines and oil cooler.
    Fox remote res shock.
    My favorite…. tons of 80’s stickers..hahahaa
Ready to ride except it needs new tires.
    Bodywork is 6/10

    1974 RD60
    Yes 60cc..
My first Yamaha and first 2 smoker. Excited to go about the yard. Runs like a top.

    Those wheels!!

Nice score dude. Lots of cool parts, like those trick rear sets.

    Goddam you.

And that little RD... so fucking cool. Tried buying one years back at our old house. Kept driving by one starting to rot out side without a cover, NEVER moving. Inquired about it... "Oh no... my brother loves that bike."

I said, "Yeah, it looks cherished." Guy gave me a puzzled, angry look. I just shook my head and walked away. Continued to watch it absolutely wither away, never moving, until we sold the house.

image.jpg I felt really good about the purchase. Apparently the guy lived in SoCal near a lot of petrol heads during the 80’s. He was super nice and appreciated the fact that I knew what I was looking at parts wise. I wasn’t totally sold until he fired it up.. whoaaa! Freakin boogied down the road. Dare I say faster than Big Red 88-89.
I spent more in parts on Big Red than both of these bikes combined.
Started playing with my next project as well.

^^^ it is sad watching cool things die in yards. Thus….

Cable clutch (perch slightly ground off) and cable driven speedo...

The lower triple is very confusing. Single pinch bolt and could be steel. Which is odd for upside-down forks. Speaking of which, the blue anodizing is odd.

Seems to be some fasteners on the fuel tank (air box cover?) for maybe some ram inlets. Might be just the angle.

It's got a high beam "pass" trigger, so not likely a U.S. model.

EDIT: I figured it out. Photo deleted.

EDIT 2: I see now the other post. Here's what I posted (and deleted) before he let the secret out.

    NC35.jpg

Air inlets, blue forks, ground off clutch perch.

    ELR at Iconic perhaps?
I am looking at that NSR250. Not sure I could afford it though.
Also have a RZ350 in mind, although it is far from original.

Alright, since I couldn't prove it last time...lol

Here are some pics from my work 22 miles away. :)

She runs pretty damn good. There is a minor flat spot between 6-7k but nothing disconcerting.
