What's the collective wisdom on where to purchase the OEM bags for an '02 VFR? I just got back from my dealer stunned at the $1,000 price tag. I've seen Corbin's Beetle Bags for about the same price.

    Any advice is appreciated.

I got mine from the dealer. The price sucks, but the rewards are endless. They are waterproof. They are large enough for an XL full face helmet. They completely form to the shape of the bike, much nicer than aftermarket hardbags. They are awesome.

I also installed the top box. My debate every morning when going to work involves which to use. I mix it up just for variety.

This past spring I broke a bolt that holds the rack on, so I decided to remove everything for a month and ride with a backpack. I really missed my hardbags. And now that I lived without them for a while, I am in love with them again.

Trust me, you'll be happy you made the investment.

I bought my sidebags and mounts for $836 U.S. shipped from Great Brittian in about 4 days. David Silver Spares. Sometimes they have specials on certain colors and you can get an even better deal. I would recommend them.

    2002 Vfr800 Hard Bags

No need to go the OEM route. I paid the $1K for my hardbags but recently sold my 2002 VFR. I will sell you the official honda 2002 VFR800 HARD BAGS for $500 + shipping.

If you are seriously interested, please email me at: lion88@optonline.net.

In the subject line pleases include "VFR800 HARD BAGS" so I do not mistakenly delete your email.

    Jeff

Hi Rambamatic. No, they will not fit a 2000 model, they are specific for 02-07 models only. The colours are the only differences as far as I know. And they are Genuine Honda hardbags.

I just looked at your photo gallery and noticed that you have aftermaket pipes....make sure they are compatible with the OEM mounts....some are not. I have Microns and have been told that the OEM mounts are so snug to the bike as they come down from the grab handles that some of the oval shaped cans are a little too wide for proper clearance. In that case- second best for bags is givi's PLX series. The V35 which is very similar to the givi produced OEM bags in shape and style, have completely different mounts and cost around 620.00 in flat black with mounts, new and including shipping. they were about $500 shipped (from UK)
they only had silver color, and they are the Euro bags (no reflecters like the us modles)
