I got the turn signals working today, and the left + right indicators work in the new GPS speedometer (nice piece for $45!!) Same for the blue high beam indicator on the gauge face. So, while not the most beautiful gauge wiring job on a 36 year old motorcycle, everything works!

I'd like to clean it up someday, but it's all secure ad working so I'd rather just ride it for now... such a sweet little bike the VFR500R is!

Thanks to all who gave supporting posts, and even those that didn't.... they pushed me harder to make it all come to fruition!

Here are some (probably final ones) pics of the bike I took just a few minutes ago:

    Cheers,
    BLIGHT

    Thank you... I'm a V4 Honda guy... my first was a 1983 VF750F Interceptor, then a '86 VFR750F, then a red '91 VFR750F.. all sold now.
    I still have an '86 VF500 (the bike here), a pristine '86 VF1000R, and a realllly fast 2010 VFR1200. All sweet bikes!
I got a chance to drag race my red-white-blue '86 VFR750 (RC24) at Famoso drag strip in the early 90's in Friday Grudge Nights.
It was a bone-stock California bike, and my best rookie 1/4 mile run was a 12.39 sec ET @ 109 mph (uncorrected) on a hot summer evening.
Who knows what the correction factor would have been to compensate for 95+F temps and almost 800' altitude? It might have corrected to high 11's!
That's what all the magazines do for their 1/4 mile times to give the most accurate review times.
I saw your sig with 'RC24', and it reminded me of fun times!
    Cheers,
    BLIGHT
