I heard about that guy. Amazing what ingenuity that he has. Simply a genuis he is. Impressive write up. Thanks for the article. If the auto industry would have "woke up" years ago, we would be in a much better position these days...as far as alternative fuels, reliability and improved fuel mileage.

I want to make my truck a diesel as it is, I wonder how hard it would be to get it to run with the hydrogen.....?

great read. I have been interested in alternatives for about the past year or so. I was thinking a motorcycle conversion to diesel then adding a biodiesel kit to that. I remember one diesel bike that got 150 mpg. Wonder what you could get out of a chicken grease bike? could be fun, and make everybody hungry when you ride up. that'd be a kick.

If this guy is legit , then Honda or Toyota will end up using it as Our auto makers ( Ford/Gmc/Chrysler) are just to afraid to use new ideas because if they make an auto that gets too much MPG then they will lose money in thier Oil stocks..

Our American auto makers are starting to become like Hraley, Hey Jimbo lets add some more chrome and call it a new model and ask $5,000 more for it.

I would love to see somebody take this mans Idea and actually use it in a production line.

I assume the "methanol powered turbo" is a methanol powered turbine in the 4 wheeler?

A 320 Mecedes BlueTec is rated at 32 mi/gal not 37, and they fail to mention it's a $52K vehicle. I'll take an Accord for $25K and get 31 MPG, thank you. That extra $27K buys an ass of gas at $0.25 cheaper per gallon than diesel.

I'm sure the ideas are good, but the few exagerations I see has me doubting the integrity of the everything I read in the article. Too bad, I hope it's all true and we'll soon see double HP and milage out of heavyweight SUVs soom from GM. I'll be the first in line.....if the price and quality is favorable for a low total cost of ownership.

I'm sure you have hit on a lot of the problem there. Many people will do just as you say, as I do with my F350 that has a 460 gas engine. Sure the mileage sucks, but I rarely drive it. I use the bike most of the time. They are both paid for and that is much better than good mileage on a $50,000 car...for now. BUT, should they start working this technology and bringing the price down to us, things could, and probably should, be different.

    I don't believe it.

Back in the 1960s, Chrysler Corp. made a few gas tubine powered cars as an experiment. They were loaded to regular drivers. The fuel mileage was not good and although they had adequate power, they were slow to respond to the accelerator.

Even now, even though they have been considerably improved, turbine engines are not efficient unless they are running at full power. And in a vehicle, an engine is normally running at a small fraction of its maximum power. 60 mpg with a turbine powered vehicle is unrealistic.

The Hummer H2 is a fine example of Great American Excess, a waste of fuel and a waste of space...NOBODY needs this monster!
It's just too TEXAS and a model of oil-age inefficiency!

Should have been TAXED heavily or regulated into oblivion!

DRIVERS: Pumped-up posers, drug dealers, pimps, highend real estate agents, smirking business owners taking major tax deductions, the Bostrom bros, brokers and stockdealers, double-dipers, paramilitary wannabes, mobsters, plastic surgeons specializing in breast enlargement, autodealers, rich assholes who think they can buy respect.....miscellaneous others.

From me, they get either the middle finger or a thumb down!!

The last of the H2s on the road, down in TEXAS, will be powered by TACOS........

to feed the crew of Mexicans hired to push it.......
