Thanks for adding me! Found a complete and all original 1986 Vfr750 Interceptor in the parking garage of a building I was working in a little over a year ago. I tracked down the owner and purchased it from him. It’s been sitting in my shed for about a year now, hoping to get the old girl freshened up and running this year. I look forward to any advice I can get. I’m sure I’ll be asking lots of questions once I begin to tear this thing down. Thanks in advance!

    Welcome from Old Scotia.

Go to Carl Salter website and download the Honda Workshop Manual. Much better than Clymer or Haynes efforts.

These are very reliable bikes built to a very high standard.

Body and exhaust parts are long out of stock at MrH. Micron made a very nice stainless pipe set until cheap Chinese imports forced them out of business.

Lots of 86/87 bikes came to UK & Europe but be aware that, unlike US, 88 & 89 models are significantly different.
US 88 & 89 models including the VFR700 are effectively recycled 86/87 models.

    Enjoy ownership.

The US did not get ANY 1988 or 1989 VFRs. No such thing, 700 or 750.

    1986 had a 750 and 700.
1987 was just a 700, and has quite a few changes from 1986, but is essentially the same machine.

Honda pushed the Hurricanes in the US in 1988 and 1989. NO VFRs again in the US until the 1990 Gen 3.
