I have a Full Hindle on of the 1000R and I like it a lot. Sounds great, looks cool, it's light and makes good power without a huge midrange hole. But I don't think I would spend any money to re-create it. The configuration where the 4-1 collects is not ideal. It essentially double stacks the pipes on the right before the 4-1 "collector" flange and limits ground clearance. Mine now has the Pro bevel in the outside edge, and the speed bump clearance mod. Made me sick when they happened, but it was gonna happen.

Wonder if the guys at Hindle could improve upon it? When I inquired with my contact he said it prob wouldnt be too hard for them to one-off some slip-ons. I might be inclined to see what they can do.

I imagine if they had the stock front headers and collector box etc they could use those to make you a set without too much trouble

They wouldn't need the rear headers, so that saves you the trouble or removing them, the hindle pipes use the factory OEM rear headers

I have an extra good stock 1000R exhaust willing to loan provided I get it back. They are not the easiest (or cheapest) thing to find. Shipping that thing around would not be the cheapest thing either I suppose.

Cap, you said you like your VFRs with a little higher rear ride height? Just wondering what the outcome from that would be?

Thanks Cap - I may take my own stock exhaust down next winter and see what they can do. I’m definitely going to look at getting slip-on’s, but a full system would be pretty trick….

Just everything better. Cornering clearance, steering response, stance. I jacked up Two Face as high as the longer than stock shock would go, and put 93 VFR forks on (short enough I had to eliminate the front lower cowl mounts to clear the fender). Steers SO MUCH NICER, and not a hint of head shake or instability at high speed or coming down from getting the wheel off the ground.

The Suburban in that pic was a K2500 454. Factory ordered. Sold it last year... broke my heart.

People would ask me, "What kind of mileage do you get?"

"I don't fucking care. I have no idea."

The 43 gallon tank made it seem reasonable though....
