Ya know, I don't think it looks that much like the superduke. Not any more than some of the other naked bikes do. The superduke doesn't have the SSSA either. Think of it, there is a good chance any new bike these days is going to look a little like some other bike. Each time a new model comes out someone says it looks like the R1, or a Ducati, or like this bike, or that bike well, many bikes now copied the Ducati's single headlight lowbeam thingy, and the look of the 916 and it's undertail exhaust. We are to the point now where a new bike is probably gonna look like another bike, or a new car is going to look like another car already produced.

    General observations....
IMHO, I say the SuperDuke (in charcoal gray, thanks) takes it for character. Something about that V twin appeals to me more than another in-line 4.
That said, I don't dislike the style. I think it'd look cooler if they skipped the zig-zag below the tank, it looks too tacked on, not flowing with the established lines above it. SSSA is always a winner for me. I do appreciate the wheel design too.
    Hmmmmm.....
When is the stink bug, blade seating trend going to end?
Looks like the under-tail exhaust trend is slowly fading in favor of stubby side exits with integral cats.
Blah, blah, blah. When are some of you European guys going to buy one and give us a full report on how it works?

Thank you, someone else noticed what has been bugging me. I hate how so many new bikes have this "tiny" tailsection that totally throws the look of the bike off balance. Example, 2008 CBR1000RR.

The design is just screaming for a hidden tail kit, except now you need to bring the indicator lights back as well. Mind you with a simple bracket you can use the signal light arm in the back position.

no woman would get on the back of that bike with me... I'll leave it to the reader to decide if the reason is me, the tiny ass-seat ratio, or the look of the bike. On second thought, the bike make me look good.

If it's a naked bike, make it look naked instead of stylized w/ plastic around the radiator and the silly exhaust... make it look raw with brushed metal that changes color when it gets hot, not like something the design geek would show his world of warcraft buddies. (not that there's anything wrong with being a level 70 shaman)

Looks like they feel a need to compete, styling-wise, with the Z1000 and FZ1. I still prefer the basic, no BS looks of a 919 compared to those.

OTOH, I kinda like the styling of the Victory Vision, so I'm not fundamentally opposed to "new". Just not crazy about the "pointy" look of the new nakeds. JMHO.

Are you kidding, they'll be FIGHTING for the backseat. Really though, do we care how comfortable the chickas are?

And as for the shammy comment, I'm going to pretend I don't know what you're talking about. :cough:

If the wheels fit on VFR's, there will FINALLY be another option. Too bad they'll cost $700 from Honda.

    KC-10 FE out...

I like them both. Maybe I'll move to one of these once I get too old to lean over a tank.

Wow, I saw a Super duke at the KTM shop over the weekend and was blown away by how UGLY that sucker is. I don't care how fun it is to ride, I'd never own one.. I hope this new honda is a better looking bike than that.

Euro style is different but when did Honda hire Optimus Prime to do styling?

Quality statement, fell off my chair when i read that. It's true Euro styling is completely different from US styling, but i still think it looks cool. Only thing that bugs me is the exhaust, going to cost megabucks to fix if it gets dropped.

I still use the whiteboard to do the designs before moving on to the CAD system.

That is just truly ugly. I don't just mean "Not Attractive" or "Unappealing" it is just truly ugly. They need to make the whole headlight section removable so that it can be used as a halloween mask or something.

I think I just figured out why they don't send them to the USA: We wouldn't buy them! (no offense intended to the Euro guys!)

On second thought, I'd buy one. But only if they priced it in the same range as a cheap bicycle.

If the engine is worth a crap (i.e. not the sorry ass 100hp excuse for a non-litre the 919 has) then DO WANT. Though I'd have to ride it first, the Fazer is the only streetfighter made that doesn't come from the factory completely crippled compared to the faired in sportbikes.
