As the title says, I'd like to acquire a single seat cowl for my 86 750. I think I'll be getting some paintwork done so pristine condition would be nice but not essential. I know I'm probably far from many of you but I have bought parts from all over though eBay so shipping costs won't put me off.

Don't forget the U.S. models did not have the relief for the rear handle. I don't know if they are different in other ways too, but knowing Honda, likely.

Went out for a spin a few weeks ago & left my cowl on. The wife found it really slippery... lol. Let her have the seat on the way back...

2 X on the solo seat cowl. Need to hide that piece of seat from the world.

Apparently, Airtech fairings makes these too for $83, but no response to my query as yet.

If it needs to be painted anyways, might be a good option. Finding a pad will be difficult, but I suppose one could me made from wood or some plastic cutting board material.

There could be a lead time depending how much demand they have had for those. But probably not a big deal, doesn't keep the bike from being ridden.

I have a lead on one that I believe has a pad. According to my source it needs paint. I asked for pics so when I get them I'll post them here.

Be careful with the air tech. they need a lot of prep before paint, although I guess the piece is not very large so it may not be the end of the world. That ebay is missing the part that attaches to the tail correct? I may not need one anyway...the CHP just told me that my engine was stolen and I may not be able to title it. Its's a cluster and my wife and I don't think he knows what he is doing. Sorry for the highjack.

The tab is missing on the ebay one, but can be created.

Engine #s are not tracked in my experience (here in Washington State at least... not at all). Be sure they realize Honda engine #s don't match frame numbers.
    jesus christ, what an ordeal.

I got a reply from Airtech overnight:
"Yes we still make those parts. Please see below for your quote. Everything is made to order and our current production time is 4 weeks. We would love to help you with your project."

The quote was for US$83 for the part and $102 for the freight...the joys of being far away. I'll think about that one for now.

Don't tell my wife but I bought a set of stock 2nd hand exhausts from Japan for $20 +$220 freight, on the plus side DHL had them to me in 5 days!
