I was asked today if I may be interested in buying this bike, I said yes. Deal wont happen for a few months until the gentleman is back in town.

Holy Shit! I have never even seen one of those before. I had a 84 CB700SC Nighhawk S and that engine looks very similar.

I loved that bike except for the shaft drive. This one? It covers all the bases.

I had never seen one either Jim, I dont think Canada got them either to be honest. I saw it when I bought my CB1, fellow said they were rare. He contacted me today and asked if I was interested. He also has more CB1 parts and another bike ill be looking at when he is back.

A good friend bought one properly imported. Its everything to love about a Nighthawk S (which is a lot), and then throw in some Euro awesomeness. Dual headlights, rear disc, chain final. I'm in.

Got a college buddy who has a sweet 86 S that is languishing, need to start planting the seed.

I haven't seen one of these either. Looks like it shares some Nighthawk parts. Wondering if it has the hydraulic lifters.
I have this feeling your truck is going to be acting up again, lol.

It does have hyd self adjusting valves. Same motor as the S, but 750cc.

I remember that being a huge deal about the hydraulic lifters back in the day. Pretty much made the CB550-650-700-750 engine a sealed unit.

I believe the VT700/750C V-Twin had them too at the the time.

In any case, the S was one of the THE best bikes I have owned, I was just too broke to keep it back in the day.

    Pulling for you Stray!

They are extremely low maintenance machines, especially the S with shaft drive. Change oil, ride, repeat.

The only issue the S and CBX engines can have is on high mileage bikes, because of how they were designed to be so narrow, if the starter clutch fails it is split the cases time. There were a couple pretty nice S that came thru the shop that went up for sale CHEAP after the owner found out. I knew somebody that got a very good deal because he was willing to tackle it. It is pretty rare though, they are very good bikes. I want my buddy's 86 R/W/B one BAD.

My buddy’s 700s has the starter clutch issue happen... we repaired it , what a pain !!!!!
Other than that , the bike is super solid.

Stay tuned, it will be a long wait until this deal is cemented. This was just a teaser, for you and for me.

I think still have an original Honda brochure for an 86 S somewhere. I snagged a bunch out of the trash from the Honda dealer I worked at in the 80's. Let me know if you want it, I will try to find it and send it to you. I know I have a 85 brochure.

Very nice. I was given an ‘84 a few months ago. It is not running and in pretty poor shape after being left outside under a tarp close the the beach for 15 years. Still, it’s a good project bike.

Wow. Same here. I have never ever seen or even heard of this bike. Condition is everything and this one looks great. It even has the stock exhaust. I will be following this thread closely. Thanks for the teaser photos. Good luck.

I just came across this video of the bike:

I am drooling ... wish this bike was available in the US back in the 80s.

Ditto on that, early 1984, I was new bike shopping and bought a Sabre700.
If the CBX was available, I'm sure I would have bought one of those. Gorgeous bike!
