Hi and Welcome to the MadHouse:Welcome:

When you get time please swing by the Introductions part of the forum to say Hi to the rest of the folks on here - tell us a bit about your riding history and your VFR - photos are welcome on here - its easy just click the "upload a file link and follow the prompts to locate and upload images from your computer.

Speaking of photos this one on the Isle of Man may show that in addition to aftermarket there is a "bodgit" option, but as I discovered even with a hugger fitted a tail tidy does have down-sides - basically on wet roads it is common for the rear tyre to cover the top box and back of a rider with goop.

The stock fitting is on the left and as you can see standard UK numberplates won't fit in the gap between the silencers so that sort of limits the potential to relocate the plate. Things are easier for French number plates which are a bit narrower and can be located between the silencers. You can go aftermarket or just get out a hacksaw and dremel to tidy things up which is what I did. Originally I went too far chopping off the mount level with the bottom of the numberplate. Once I realised the back of the bike was then getting plastered in road crap after any wet ride I fitted the aftermarket "ducktail" which you can see works far better than stock at keeping the back of the bike clean and dry.

So what is more important - looks or practicality? It is you choice.

    Take Care ATGATT
