hi. i have an 02' vfr with the tri-pack of hard bags. i'm inseamed challenged and would like to lower the bike, but still allow it to handle enough load/wgt. for touring. i only ride 1 up and typical gear load would be 50-60#'s. i previously lowered a suzuki bandit, but with just weekend camping gear under load the rear tire wore threw the rear fender and destroyed the bikes electronics module). only want to lower it 1 - 1 1/2"

Look at your rear shock linkage underneath the bike. See the two triangle shaped pieces (one on each side) with three bolts and an arrow facing towards the front of the bike?

Take a measurement of the bike sitting upright, at rest on the wheels to determine the stock rear height to a predetermined point off the ground. Like maybe the passenger pegs on each side and divide by 2.

Then chuck it up on the centerstand and remove those suspension triangles completely. Reorient them both so that the arrow that used to face forwards now faces up and to the rear. As in rotate them clockwise on the LH side of the bike and counter-clockwise on the RH side.

After tightening everything back up, put the bike back on it's wheels and repeat your measurement from before.

Find the difference and next, slide the forks up in the triple clamps to match the difference in the back to level out the bike.

Your sidestand may be too long, might have to find a used one on EBAY and shorten it. Also it's going to be a bitch to get the bike on the centerstand afterwards unless you roll the bike onto a piece of wood first.

And watch your cornering clearance until you get used to the new setup.

I think it does. Give it a try, doesn't take long.
