Fairings - does the 2001 Model have same fairings

Hi , I had a low speed drop and need to fix fairing RH side . Plus top one . As I can’t get them OEM , there is a 2001 model going for $3500 ( Aussie ) and was wondering would it be something to consider cor parts ? Like , is the fairing the same as Gen 5 ?

Yes. The fairings from 1998 - 2001 should all be the same.

Unfortunately I did same, ı ordered from china, waiting the delivery now. All china fairings are compression moldğng for 5th gen(I made huge research) which means, I will face fitting problems. Heat gun will be my friend

 

Can you tree some pics ? I’ll use you as the guinea pig ! I’d like to see how they go and the end comment from you please ? Would be helpful . Where did you get them and what was the part number ? So you purchased Gen5 one ? I am very curious in case you haven’t noticed. Cheers

 

Hi, I havent received it yet. Probably I will recieve it in 3 weeks( holiday season and custom is slow)

first pic is for what I want for the colors. And they sent finished products photos. I attached what they sent to me.

Probably I will start a thread when I recieve the fairings and I am planing to share my experience.

 

Please Do. I imagine long term VFR members have probably done this many times. But my journey starts 2020. Again last night I watched some you tubes , very budget repairs, I am interested because I plan to put them in the bikes I have plus I have more coming I hope . Seen 2 TWO immaculate bikes for sale yesterday , just waiting on the sellers reply . I am a Gen5 nutter now . So looking forward to your videos or pics mate

I found a site that claims to have original fairings, so curiously I added every fairing to the cart along with blinkers , and mirrors . AUD $5300 . Wow I can get a great full bike for that price . It begs the question if they actually do have them.
