My average fuel consumption is 36.5 mpg. The bike is stock, save the 15 tooth front sprocket. I did just do the Flapper, PAIR, snorkel mod, but haven't measured MPG with it yet. Middle of the road ridding style.

Mine is about the same, 35/ 37 with the mod and I'm sure I could get better if it wasn't for that VTEC engine kicking in, I love it so much. Just installed some Shinko 009 Raven tires and it sticks to the pavement like I'm on rails.
I had an 88 FZR1000 and it was awesome but the VFR800 is awesome +1.

First full tank I put through her was almost exactly 300km (186miles), near bone dry fill (almost 20L) Pegs me at about 35mpg (6.7L/100km)

PS: 80/20 - Cruising/City mileage and I was pushing a bit on the cruising, maybe averaging 110km/h.

I’ve only had two full tanks since purchase, the first yielded about 43mpg, the second was 50mpg. Riding it about the same way, the second tank was after a general tune up. Very satisfied with those numbers.

This is a link to my Fuelly page: http://www.fuelly.com/motorcycle/honda/vfr800_interceptor/2004/cda441/875117
You can see a very high spike in the last fuel up, but the last 80km's on my tank were without the topbox, rack and pillion pegs which probably decreases drag.

The thermostat was stuck for the first 400km, which explained the bad fuel mileage. After replacing it it went up with around a litre/km.

    Last MPG: 38.5

Riding style: Lot's of highway, little city riding, fast accellerations and lots of vtec to get on the highway or overtake people.
    (highway speeds = 80mph)

Haha! Filled 'er up today! Got 40MPG's out of the bike, and I didn't change my riding style!
Only thing I did is changing the sparkplugs :) Tomorrow I change the airfilter and I'll see what kind of numbers we get!

MPG numbers.... very important you say what gallon..... Imperial (4.55l) or US (3.78l)? Can get confusing.

I'm kinda like...if there's gas in the tank and it goes down the road for riding fun, that's about all the thought I'm gonna bother on gas mileage....
    To each his own....

I agree in theory. So why do I have such comprehensive records? I use a website called mileagetracker.org which keeps my maintenance records on all my vehicles. Every time you put in fuel and update your odometer it tells you what services are coming due. The graphs and MPG calcs are just a side benefit, but they have proven useful when traveling between far-flung fuel stops. Sometimes a station is just beyond the reach of the tank if driven enthusiastically.

Sure! Try this link (with the index) and look in the navigation for Login. I keep this in my phone's favorites and tap on it whenever I'm fuelling up. There are other apps and sites for this, but this one is simple and lets you make edits and I've got years of data in here.

    Honda VFR VTEC 2011:

    Highway(130-145km/h or 80-90mph at 5000-6000rpm constant): 5.2l/100km or 45mpg(US).
City with mild traffic: 7.5l/100km or 31mpg(US)

High speed run on highway at 125-135mph 10l/100km or around 23mpg(US)

    Not great, not terrible :)
