Greetings. I'm an old - new rider. Started riding in 2017. Have been wanting many bikes including a VFR for awhile. Not totally sure why since I don't have experience with one. But, one must have a V4 in the stable, right? Well, I also know its a great bike! Anyway, I decided that a '98 or '99 was my first choice, and found a nice one that is about to get picked up and delivered to me by the middle of next month. Lots of miles but priced right I think and has been treated well.

Actually, I'm running out of time so I thought I better start picking up additional bikes sooner than later.

I know that the bike I've just bought has had dreaded electrical issue. Actually it's getting a new R/R and battery right now. But I'm not worried at this point. I like wrenching (and wiring) on old things (old cars and now old bikes). Should be fun. Anyway, I plan to replace the stator with a new OEM one, and get the Jack Flemming R/R kit. He seems to be well liked here.

Anyway, at some point soon I'll be relocating to Tennessee where I'll start to look for some other members of the VFR club, or whoever is on two wheels!

    Gary

Well, seems like a cheap insurance policy. Or, I just want to play with wrenches. PS. I grew in Niagara Falls.

I was just gonna say but mello dude beat me to it. Looks like $197 for the Stator and $11 for the gasket. And yes, the Falls ain’t what it used to be. In Lewiston now for a visit.
