Typically when a solenoid clicks it means it's working, but there are exceptions. That plug needs to be your first priority imo. But don't forget what sixdog mentioned about the diode, he's had it happen. I've never had a diode go bad on my bikes, but that doesn't mean shit.

    Pictures!!!

I'd also like to mention that the bike has a bypass of some sort from the PO where it does not matter if it's in gear or if the kick stand is down and it will still crank... Not sure if that helps.

Sounds like the clutch lever switch or the neutral switch has been jumped.

So I get 3 of the exact same picture. I'll take it.

Good looking VFR, exhaust came out good. Bet it sounds good too.

It's not as loud as I wanted but it's ok... Wish there was a way to remove the baffles.

No you don't, those are already thru baffles, but just on fairly long mufflers. Some more noise from that V4 is good, too much is bad for everybody in the long run.

I wonder if I need an ohm meter? I pulled it and hooked up a 12v light tester to it but couldn’t get the light to come on by touching either prong. Not sure if I’m even doing it right. I’ve looked high and low for a diode just to buy but can’t find anywhere that has them... any ideas?

sorry but u can't expect to own a honda'cycle without also owning a multimeter and knowing it's basic operation. the diode was fitted on multiple hondas over dozens of years, should be easy to find one, another item that's ridiculously easy to test.

For the sake of not sounding like an asshole, why on earth would you write all that and not be helpful? None of what you said is helping my progress.

Wow... Did you literally resort to name calling behind your keyboard big guy?
Anyways, thanks for not helping and making it harder for first time older honda bike owners to learn about their bikes. You're why forums get such a bad shake. Yes, my questions were probably silly to a know-it-all Big Shot VFR owner like yourself, but I'm super new to the game and on a tight budget, I have to learn most everything from scratch and try to fix issues myself.
When you're not helpful and would rather call me an "Idiot" because I don't know some of the simpler things, it's just not helping. My opinion of course. I for one do not think you're an idiot, I just think you could be less of an asshole... again, my opinion only.
