I have had my 5th gen to 160mph so said the speedo. It sure felt like it waz accurate. No bullshit. It didn't feel like it had much more to go if any. Don't remember what the tach said but was probably close to 10k

had the vf500 at an indicated 115mph. no way to be sure but i could go out with a gps app and find out. surprising how little room it needs to reach top speed.

    Motorcycle trash!! Common motorcycle trash!!

The only time I ever exceed the speed limit is when I ride my VFR. Isn't the way it's 'posed to be? My 8th gen has been 114 with a lot left. I really don't care about top end anymore. Use real gasoline and it will help. VFR's like it. Three VFR's and all three like petroleum based fuel without the welfare alcohol in it.

I'm riding with two Hardleys and a another VFR today on my VFR so I expect to accumulate 5 pounds of carbon in my engine by days end. I'll have to go "blow it out" before riding home.

They're good guys and friends so it will be a day of throttle restraint. Maybe they will come around from the dark side.....; )

'02, aftermarket cans, 138mph on the speedo with soft saddle bag air brakes in tow. Wide open for about 10 minutes, straight line, mild side wind, elevation 4787 feet. Carrying my 210 lb fully geared lard ass and about another 40 lb of luggage. Was dynod at 102 hp just prior to that outing.

Haven't ever really topped out the old vf700, one it's 30+ years old, two don't really have anywhere to run her, three I a bit old and my family needs me too much
I did hit nearly 115 mph (108 GPS) without ever dropping a gear late for work one morning when traffic opened up for a little ways. One other time I hit between 120-125 in 4th at redline, going back by a Vette that taunted me. Saner heads prevailed and I let off as I went to fifth. Gear commander reports 116.3 in fourth at 10,500 rpm.

It hit these speeds pretty easily, should be able to hit 134.3 redlined in fifth.

The past couple of days I've been repairing fairings and my speedometer mounting tabs. I've been using PLASTEX. It works fantastically!!! Easy to use, and as long as you follow directions, it's very strong and fills cracks and mounts tabs, it even can be used to build up broken missing parts of the fairings. My bike took quite a whollop and there were parts of the fairing that broke off. I followed their directions and actually built up and filled in the missing parts. I bought the $29.95 ($10 shipping :sheep: ) kit in clear which is strong, however they recommend white on white plastic, but even the clear is really good.
This has saved me a lot of money and I am very confident I can repair a lot of fairing damage now. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT! This saved me $400 for new fairings and an unknown amount for a different speedometer.
I'll get pictures tomorrow after I sand it all down with 800 grit. After that I'm going to do a two tone Plasti-Dip to see if I like it enough to permanently paint it.

Use with adequate ventilation. Ask me how I know!!! :Faint2::Faint2::Faint2::Faint2:

    Lint,
I agree its an awesome product..

If you are going to do a few repairs - get the technicians kit - its better value for money & you have a few more options / colours..

    Uh, sorry wrong thread. Oops.

I've gone about 128 indicated at Chuckwalla racetrack. The straight isn't that long though.

138mph in 5th at redline. Didn't have the road to put it in top gear.

I don't know. I have not found out! Roads in Utah are not the place to find this out. I have not done any track time at the previous Larry H. Miller motorsport track or any track in my life. But, that would be where I would be semi tempted to find out. 127mph is the fastest so far on highways in Utah. 133mph on another bike in Nevada. Head shake started and slowed down just in time to get to about 65mph to miss an antelope coming off the side hill. Shit my pants a little because it was that close. Had to drop my drawers off in the garbage at the next gas station. Damn those where my favorite boxers too ;-)
