I believe I saw a version of a 2000 VFR that had a red, black and silver paint scheme on one of the photos that appeared on the VFR World home page. I
believe this was a factory color for bikes shipped to Great Britain. I think the Brits consider the bike to be half painted, however this Yank thinks it to be a very cool paint combination. I have not tried to order any of the components
state side, but wonder if they would be available to us here. Would any of you 5th Gen Brits know if the plastics of that combination are still available from Honda on your side of the pond? Since everyone of my plastic components has some damage, I may like to try and get the red black and silver pieces for my scoot. Thanks eddie

Hey Johnny O; Bingo thats it,if thats yours it's one beautiful machine. Now do you know if all the plastics are still available thru Honda? If possible can you check with your dealer. Also can you tell me the paint code number for the anniversary edition. Also was the anniversary edition just a European thing, or were they shipped to other areas? Thanks for your help eddie

Eddie, sadly that's not my baby, i just did a search on google for one so everyone could see what it looked like. I know Honda did those for the UK market (which prob means rest of europe too), they also did a Fireblade with that paintjob as well, if memory serves came with a few extras like ohlin shocks as standard. All built in 2000. That's as much info as i can find. I would assume a Honda main dealer could get the plastics which are totally standard apart from the paintjob.

I also found this site listing all the Honda motorbike paintcodes,

John; Thanks a bunch,I will talk with my local Honda dealer and see if he would be able to order those specific paint codes. Unbeknownst to me I just installed an Ohlins rear shock,to match my high riding skill, not. But if the anniversary editions had an Ohlins, I am half way there!
Thanks again

silver parts

Eddie,

I have one of the silver front fairings in my "spares" room. Can send you jpg if you're in the market. Other silver bits are N/A from USA dealers (I am told) but available from our brothers to the North in Canada.

I looked as well for the anniversary paintcode but i couldn't find it either. I think they're standard colours that are used, red tail section, silver panels and so on. They're probably using some stick on decals the cheapskates...

Eddie, you will NOT be able to order the 50th Anni bodywork from any North American Honda dealer. The part numbers are not in their system.

If you get the correct UK/Euro/Japanese part numbers and provide them to your Friendly USA Honda dealer, they will find that they cannot order them as their computer system will not recognize the part numbers. They simply are not in the dealer network.

It's not as simple as getting silver fairings, as the decals are all different. Even the tank is different, it has a vintage Honda Wing logo hearkening back to the 60's RC racebikes.

If you want the Anni bodywork, I suggest you order from David Silver Spares in the UK.

http://www.davidsilverspares.com and click on "genuine spares" If the anni bodywork is not listed, email them and ask. Not everything is up on the site.

I have talked to a number of US VFR riders who have ordered OEM hardbags for their VTECS thru DSS in the UK and been very pleased, pricewise, even including shipping.

But with the US dollar tanking lately, that may no longer be true. Email DSS and let them know what you want. You can always EBAY your existing bodywork to defray the costs.

With " Black " in the opening line had wondered if " eddie cap " actually means the " RS Performance 50th Anniversary VFR " but as it doesn't contain Silver probably not.

Thats right, the Tank's '60's Wing and the Tanks & rear Cowls Racing Stripe's are under the Clearcoat and the Fairing's and Key's have Red 50th Anniversary badges. The fairing VFR decals and Yellow V are stick on's though.

Supprisingly The 50th Ann plastics still exist in Japan as I have recently found after being rear ended while stationary at a red light by an inattentive cage driver.

The rear seat cowl does not have the stripes under the clear. I got the tank from France (off of ebay last year) and the rear cowl from David Silver Spares. All the decals are available from them as well. The silver is the same silver as we got in Canada, and the bike was a 99 (FiX), not a 00 (FiY).

Stand corrected just checked the stripes are indeed decals, have had my rear cowl boxed for a while after getting my ventura rack and bag.
