Got the bike out this weekend for first ride of 2019, however the weather really didn’t help as half the island was covered in fog !
But great to back out on two wheels

I am very jealous that you managed to get the bike out so soon Andy.

Over winter the snowploughs have stacked up a mass of snow in front of my garage and their idea of a "clear" road has just created a thick slab of rutted hard pack ice. I still hope to get the bikes out before the end of March to visit the motorbike show over in Switzerland, where parking means it is hopeless if you try to drive, and attend the annual Spadino Memorial gathering in Italy in April. So I guess it is now time to skip skiing for a day and start clearing enough snow to get the garage door open and then create a safe path to get the bikes onto clear roads. The only worry is the forecast of more snow arriving at the start of March.

As always, when you cannot ride it leaves plenty of time to plan trips. So far this year I have three international trips confirmed including of course the TT, and a run up through Denmark to Norway in June 2020.

I hope you enjoy better weather and a chance for great photos on your next trip..

Sounds like you have some cracking trips planned there

Weather hasn’t gotten any better here recently so bike is back in the garage and likely to be there for another week or two yet.

Looking forward to catching up with you guys at the TT this year, remind me what dates you are here ?

Looking like perfect riding conditions - shame we are not gearing up for the TT weeks or I would be there too. Oh well hopefully next year.

After 8 weeks locked down over in France we are now allowed to travel 100km from home, and after dropping in at the local Honda dealership it seems the arrival of fine weather and the guarantee of isolation when riding motorbikes rather than travelling on crammed on public transport is suddenly getting very popular. Meantime here is a photo of IMG_8928.JPG Mont Blanc yesterday.

How's the Akrapovic? Is it better than stock for power?

Yeah the weather has been kind recently, although not as kind as shown in your pic !

Lockdown hasn’t been too bad over here, borders were closed pretty quick and we had a couple of weeks where only “essential” journeys were allowed.

However, they also brought in an island wide max speed limit of 40mph (where it’s not 20mph or 30mph) to help reduce the impact on the hospital and emergency services. Hopefully they don’t get any silly ideas about keeping a speed limit !!
