    .... Think. Think. Think.... Decisions.....
    Does my reasoning make sense.... Leaving the carbs undisturbed or am I just better to put in the hours to completely disassemble, ultrasonic bath, new o rings and bench sync now. Fix the tang (P#15) put it together and start from there.....
    Im thinking that now the the carbs have been out of the bike for 6 years they may already be out of adjustment/sync and if I don't do it now i'll make it even more challenging to resurrect?

    Just do it. They are out, what better time. The hours now or more of the hours later disassembling again?

    The engine is gonna run exactly like it did before. Going to feel nice after you hear it run and you don't have to go back in. You can start ASSEMBLING other things.

    I would do it now. You've already got it off the bike, and it will be a constant worry if you're unsure of what's inside. I wouldn't worry about disturbing the synchronization--just assume it's already out of sync. You'll likely need to resynchronize regardless of whether you go through it or not.

    I just did it with a Billy's kit on a 500. It took me way longer than it should have to reassemble because I couldn't visualize how it all linked together. It took me probably on/off ~10 days to disassemble, clean, and reassemble the carburetor correctly. I ended up having to do it multiple times due to some mistakes I made. That may have been a blessing though because I could have the carburetor off the bike now, disassembled, cleaned, and reassembled in a day now as opposed to 10.

    Take more pictures than you think you need. Take some video of how the linkages move.
