I had my heart set on a 5th generation VFR but with a new baby and one income (I know you have heard it all before) I am considering lowering my standards to start with any ways.

There is a 1986 VFR-750-F (RWB) for sale locally. It has 32K miles and, from the pics, looks really good. It is listed as a great running bike but you never know. The price is set at $1400 but says that the price is negotiable. The bike looks all factory.

Is this a good deal? How good of a bike are the 86's?

I had an '86 for a long time and loved it. If this bike is as good as you say then go for it.

You might be able to get it for $1200. Good price....great bike.

The bike is rock solid. The first year with the gear driven cams. I still own one and ride it regularly. If the bike is in great shape, they can go for upwards of $3K.

Off Topic, but a friend of mine is looking at an 86 VF500, and I was wondering if it had gear driven cams like the 750.

Sorry fellas but the bike was sold when I found it. I would have told you where it was if I decided not to get it.
