Epic!!!! it Runs boys!!!!! don't know the last time this bike was running but today 6/16/19 it ran. Got a set of carbs off FeeBay for $125. Went at them with carb cleaner, loosened up the choke slides, vacuum pistons and argued with them to get them on the bike---- VROOM, smoke, mosquito killing type, happiness. lol...Carbs need some work, it only ran on full choke, but it ran.

Well it doesn't stop when trying to restore old bikes... my next hill to climb. Since I can only run the bike on full choke I am doing a quick clean to see if I can get it to run normal before sending carbs to squirrelman. On the first carb set, the jets are crumbling in pieces. Not something I have seen before. This where I stopped last night and walked away.

Used the original set of carbs to replace the broken jet. Cracked open the rest of the bowls. As I was opening them I noticed one particular had little amount of gas in it compared to the others. I cleaned the others first and saved that one for last. After taking the bowl off it looked normal in side, float operated stiffly. Upon taking out the float and needle, this ethanal gel was clogging the float needle hole, surrounded the float needle and almost glogged the hole in the set.

cleaned it out, made sure it operated smoothly and they are set to be put back on tonight.

After taking the carbs off and cleaning them 4 different time it runs and starts without choke, pretty happy about that. Carbs still need work because it will bog down when aggressive throttling but is ok when throttling is slowly progressive. but what I'm stoked about is the compression. I checked it yesterday after running it for about 1 hour total all week, all four pistons are between 120 and 125 (warm engine) . Which is great because when I got this bike Piston #2 compression was 60 dry-90 wet.

Now I need to source some parts:
    Clutch Handle lever only
    Radiator (+Cap)
    Choke cable
Fuel Pump ( I believe I read on here that we can remove the pump)

I have already sourced all parts on FeeBay (minus the china made pump), but if anyone on here has them and is up to sell them hit me up. I'd rather support someone here than a scrapper on FeeBay.

chinese pumps have a very short life. bike won't run properly without pump. doubt you'll find choke cable unless used.

    REVEL with MEEEE...IT LIVES!!!!!!!!

Sharing the moment with VFRWORLD. First time the bike has been on pavement in many years. Still a long way to go and long list of "TO DO's," Also noisier than expected. I only made several of the laps in the video, nervous to go to far from the house.

Thanks USPS. I was holding off on some hopefully inspiring revel pics for the VFRWORLD because I bought all my needed fairings in a superb condition. I know, hard to believe. The seller priced both fairing and windscreen un-damaged for a stellar price. As usual I was sceptic by my curiosity got me. So I inquired about them and requested pictures for proof. Sure enough, light wear scratch but all in all, great condition.

I was like a fat kid at the table with fork in hand waiting for cake all week (in this case waiting for my fairings). But NOT today, no cake. SOME FREAKING HOW, THEY LOST THE SHIPMENT!!!!! I mean come on, really!!! So they admitted not knowing where its at but to give them a few more days(in annoying anticipation) for something I've bee on hush about, on the edge of my seat and hoping its not damaged!

Nice to see your progress and glad you got your fairings. What tail section is on it?

That's a topic I'm going back and forth on. to go classic "box tail" or to do something different. But no definitive choice has been made yet till bike is 100% operational.

T-25 pan head m6 bolts with rubber washer for the fairing, since i do not have well nuts i got axirads to expand and fill the hole like well nuts. Also got new aluminum Fuel and Vent T's for the carbs which i'll wait to intall them next time i have them off. Just going to replace the small T since that one broke and doesn't require removing them.

Worked on the pin striping today. I think the gold pin stripe with those colors brings it all together.
