hello everyone I have a question I'm trying to get answered. my bike used to crank up about 3 months ago just fine. I tried to crank it yesterday and all the starter does is just spin and it sounds like its not engaging the starter clutch at all. any help would be greatly appreciated.

so you think its the battery and not the starter solenoid or should I just replace both since I think the battery is old anyway from sitting too long

Try to jump start it with another battery before you buy anything. Most likely just the battery imho

If you are jumping from a car, leave the car not running.

Why not make a video of it then post it up with your question. That way we are all working from the same hymn sheet and not trying to second guess. You get a lot of it on FB groups, folk trying to describe the above and it turns out its actually the starter relay dropping in and out as opposed to the starter spinning.

Better to put the battery on charge overnight.

ill post a video tomorrow since I just got home from work and I tried to jump it and noticed my start button isn't working now either so I have to bridge to starter solenoid and all that does is spin my starter but will have more updates tomorrow after posting a video

lean the bike way way over on the right side to get oil to the starter clutch and try again.
