I'm having some weird issues with the tachometer and temp gauge on my Interceptor. My tachometer will sometimes get stuck between 3000 and 2000 when coming to a stop, but the engine is definitely staying at 1200 rpm at idle. If I tap on the plastic lens, sometimes I can get the needle to drop down the proper reading. When I accelerate from the stop, it will start from where it was stuck giving me false readings. Another issue it has is when I accelerate hard, the tach will get hung up around 6000 and all of a sudden jump up around 8500 rpm or just stay at 6000 until I slow back down. The issue with the temp gauge is that anything over 3000 rpm, the temp gauge will drop down to almost touching the pin, but if I pull up to a stop or drop the throttle and pull in the clutch, the needle jumps up to the proper reading. I have pulled the cluster apart to try and see if there was anything obvious like dirt in the tach or a corroded ground but everything seemed to be quite clean and tidy. Could this be a bad battery/regulator, or are my gauges just starting to fail?

sounds like the tach part of your cluster is going bad the temperature gauge seems to be working fine it would be a cooler reading when engine is at a higher rpm crusing down the road and fan working it would be warmer idleing at a stop sign if fan wasnt on
