    Got home and pressed it into place. Perfect fit.

    Finished up the front wheel last night too. Came out nice.

    Decided to do some more paint before installing the front wheel. New color for the top triple.

    The gold had been worn thru by a key fob. I didn't find a new gold I was happy with, so I went with a bronze/grey I had found that I really like.

    Also decided to match the forks to the frame. Wasn't confident on the color but it matches almost perfect.

    Forks now have oil, cush drive has the studs installed and the rear wheel is assembled with the final spacers. Looks pretty cool, hopefully it performs that way too.

    Finished up the rear brake stay. Pretty happy with it, simple and effective. Don't have to worry about getting around the wide rim and tire.

    Used the machined surface that held a hose bracket and drilled and tapped an additional hole. The footprint of the new bracket matches that machined area.

    I made the stainless brake stay tube. The caliper bracket is drilled and tapped at the location that normally engages a slot. Plenty of material for good threads. The wheel can slide all the forward and back, but this is the sweet spot for the new chain. Even all the way back, the stay arm still has an angle, so plenty of room for adjustment.

    Now just have to rebuild 3 calipers. I am so sick of rebuilding calipers. But this should be the last of any custom work regarding the wheel and suspension swap.

    Thank you NB and sixdog. I've been kicking around the design for a couple months while exploring some kind of hanging caliper using the stock bracket and torque arm. The VTR1000F wheel has a contour on the inside of the disk that prevents opposed piston hangers getting far enough on the VTR/CBR disk (at least the two I've tried). They clear an F3 wheel though. Probably won't even worry about it now, I like this solution - the completed one.

    I have to keep telling myself. Just get it done and ride the piss out of it. This is easily the "dirtiest" bike I've put back together after having it torn down pretty far. The exhaust collector would have been nice to clean up, but that's gonna be a whole ordeal for another time. I trimmed the stock turn signal mounts off the rear and reshaped the fender. Still need to hard wire the reg/rect and install a fuel relay bypass switch. Switched to a CBR1000F brake master cylinder. The steel lines that were on it are too long for the shortened front end and they would have been gouging into the lowers a lot. Went with individual lines to each caliper but the stock master exits forward and the double banjo would hit the dash. Will prob switch to a matching clutch master when I find a good deal.

    Finally got the starter o-rings today. Installed starter, new oil, filter, coolant. Hung the aux fuel tank... a little coaxing but fired up. Hasn't ran in... 3-4 years? Of course a little smoky at first, but cleared up. Was able to take choke off pretty much immediately. No leaks (except for the coolant hose I forget to tighten the clamp!). Revs snappy and perfect, settles into idle immediately. Kerkers sound great. Fuel cut relay bypass switch was nice (again). Was able to flip a switch and prime the whole system and check leaks.

    I still need to give everything a fine cut / polish and do a bunch of touch up. The white fender is very hard to get used to, but after spinning around for just one evening it already seems OK.
