New Rider First Bike 98 VFR800

Hi Guys

So after a 2 month wait I finally picked up the bike on Saturday....My father in law came along as I did not have the nerves to ride the bike home(110km trip most on freeways) Once at home I thought I would take my time and just head to an empty parking lot to reintroduce my self to riding(after 7 years) As it turns out I did not need to, by the end of Saturday I had done just over 175km of mountain roads:-o I must say that I am truly happy with this bike,great power, really easy to ride and suprisingly light on fuel(perhaps i was just riding too slow haha) I was expecting it to be heavy and tricky to ride,especially for a novice like me, but this was not the case.I am looking forward to doing many more kms on this bike,its truly epic.Some images of My first day attached.

 

Heck of a nice first bike! I only find it heavy when pushing it around my garage or in parking lots. I don't really notice when actually riding.

Yeah it really is in great shape and rides really beautifully

 

Yeah it is as important i wana enjoy riding for years to come

No worries man,went for another ride yesterday,bike is really good I cannot believe it is over 20 years old

 

In the alps,just a short ride,but still really good

 

Beautiful area where that pic was taken ...good to see the bike being used by someone who appreciates it

 

Its about 20km from home, Brunnen in Central Switzerland. Yeah I have always been a fan of VFRs. I actually wanted to get an RVF NC35 but they are not available here.Being a South African I know those bikes quite well but they arent available here. But This bike is a perfect mix of everything really...I cant wait to start touring Europe with it....

Sooooo.......After about 1100km of riding in the last 3 weeks I am happy to report that I have a great example.I have been do a bit of everything,From going to work in heavy traffic to mountain passes,What a cracking bike.Also been with my father in law(yellow VTR) and we will do a few more trips soon.....The views in this place....
