We must be terrible company as in your only post after raising up the idea of the ride, you quickly distanced yourself from us, and turned it to "our" ride.

Esak, you don't want to ride out here Memorial day weekend - the roads are NUTS with people trying to go camping, hiking, etc. The campers, jeeps, and out of staters are unbelievable idiots on the road. It truly is a nightmare. I will be in my basement with all the lights out watching movies that weekend.

Igrok, I got a message from A.M. and it looks like she is out. She is climbing and due to snow levels may just take her car out due to the snowpack. That being said how do our routes look for decent riding conditions? I think the longer and higher elevation ride may be out. I tried to get some riding pants but the two I got are not going to work. I am looking at cold riding gear options and not getting much success for the ride. So I may have to hope for great weather with what I can find or just wear. I also threw my back out yesterday, so I took work off and I am trying to mend it. I am still planning on the ride but I will keep you posted.

We should be good to go in June - I am going to run the route this weekend; started out mid- 60's, now they're calling for snow in Gunnison and here at home LOL, that's Colorado for you. The best thing is that it leaves as quickly as it comes, so we should be fine. All the passes we will run will be open the end of May (this month).

Sorry About your back Bubba. I never have success in sizing with ordering any kind of apparel which is why I always like to visit a store. Its quite a distance from you, but you could visit Rocky mountain ATV. I did and they were able to match me perfectly. Cheers.

I ran the route this past weekend:

Saturday: Snow over Monarch Pass - road was fine, no accumulation, Hwy 92 (Black Canyon) was snow, rain, and hail. it was cold, but we rode out of the storm right before the little town of Crawford.

Sunday: Heavy snow on the Grande Mesa, got down to 23 degrees (even grip heaters didn't work well at that temp), but snow stopped on the north side heading towards Mesa, CO. It didn't start snowing on us again until Vail Pass. The snow turned to rain around Georgetown, CO and rained on us the 48 miles to Denver before it quit.

Weatherwise: rain, snow, hail. Warmest temps was around 61 and coldest was 23.
Highest Elevation: 11,312 ft (Monarch Pass)
    Scenery: Absolutely Gorgious!!

Summary: I'd ride it again in the same weather just to see the scenery. I'd like it to be a little warmer and less wet so I can enjoy the twisties more.

Oh, the cabins at the Sunset RV Ranch are decent. You could squeeze 4 people in one if you didn't mind doubling up on the double bed (Not me, I won't sleep with anyone unless they have a vagina LOL)

I'll try to upload some pics soon.

I am with you there. I will sleep in one alone, but Mad Doc is willing to test my issues on the bunk bed. LOL. Bought a camp pillow today at Costco and will just bring some throw-away bedding and some de-liceing spray with me. I may just hit Walmart in town and buy a pillow for $10 and leave it to cut down on baggage. I still cannot find a pair of riding pants for the trip. I may just have to risk it with jeans and some thermals and fleece underlining. Rain will be an issue and if it is below 50 it may as well but oh well. No protection but I need to have the knees replaced anyway!;-)

What pressure did you have your front and rear wheel at? I went down to my shop to see about my wobble at 91mph and found out that my front was at 31psi and the rear at 32psi so I will put them to 36-and 41 and see if it clears up. I should check my pressure more often but getting a gauge into the front tire is a bitch. :)

Thanks, it looks like the EvoT30 is recommended at 36psi front and 41psi rear. So I will start there.

Igrok, it looks this is the one then. No worries it lets us stay up later and us waking up later and Hope my back is good. ;-) We will have a great time and a good ride. lots of road and scenery along the way not matter. I was amazed that you are almost as far away as we are in Utah to Delta. Google maps state 5.25 hours to your 4.25 hours home. Obviously road conditions and stops not included. Thanks for the update and I looked at the long-range weather that stated up to 91 degrees at Delta on our dates with a low of 57. Of course, this is subject and did not post rain. I am glad you got down and had a great ride prior. Lucky you. All details will be a great discussion once we get to Delta. We have cell phone #s and email so everyone should be informed of any conflict.

Route: Montrose -> Gateway -> Naturita -> Placerville -> Montrose
This is a 232-mile ride. Throw in lunch, picture stops, gas, and large crowd, this would make a great day of riding and leave afternoon time
    for relaxation and socializing.:band:

Bubba, one road I did NOT list is the road going over the Grande Mesa. This road is really close and an amazing ride! let's look at the map when we link up and decide where to ride then... Over beer. :) There's a fantastic brewery right by Sunset Valley called Needle Rock brewery.
