I haven't been active on this forum for a couple of years now due to just not having the spare time, but I have been a member here since 2006. Also, I have been a VFR / Interceptor owner since 1990.

After seeing some of the great deals out there on the 8th Gen, I decided to pick one up. I bought a brand new 2014 Standard for just $4999. I was planning to pick one up eventually but at that price, it was a no brainer to make the move. The Deluxe would have been nice, but for that price, I can live without it. Besides, my 6th Gen was a non-ABS model, so I'm not missing anything that I had before.

I am currently in the process of installing the center stand and do think I will also be adding the heated hand grips. Now that I have the new ride, I plan to be more active on the forum again.

Welcome back Stu.. That's quite the deal. I have been watching for an 8th gen as well but I am picky. Mine has to be the deluxe and white is a must. I have not been successful yet. Especially seeing as it almost absolutely needs to be for sale in Canada to avoid the hassles of importing.

Do you still have the RWB in your avatar?

Good to see many of the same people are still around on this forum. I had the opportunity to sell my '07 last year to a local guy who really wanted it, so I let it go and started my search for an 8th Gen. I bought mine a couple of weeks ago and at the time, they did have a white Standard for $500 more. That one was sold when I went down the following week to pick it up.

The ones that I was following within a 6 hour drive of CNY are all gone. By the time I actually started calling around to purchase one, nobody had any left. I had to leave my name for a call back in case one of the deals fell through, which is how I got mine. The dealer I got mine from said they got it from a Honda auction and that they bought as many as they could. They were selling the Standard for $4999 and the Deluxe for $6499. Both are bargains.

Honda used to make a kit for this, but it has been discontinued for quite some time though. The only way to get it done is to source all of the parts that were originally part of the kit. Luckily, the following thread on this forum spells it all out. I just ordered everything a couple off weeks ago, but note that item #2 is for the wrong collar. I have just updated the thread with the correct part number. Other than that, I have confirmed that all of the other parts listed are the correct ones. The total cost was around $160.

Trying to find new 2 center stand kits... 08M70-MJM-D00

I've been a Hawk GT guy forever, but I like to keep it stashed away for special (gas tank size limited) rides. New DLX are showing up for not too far off half of original price and yeah I won't lie, I AM going to get one, just a matter of where... Now about that CAT delete...
