"Wait until we get to Europe" they said, "It'll be different", they said... Maybe not.

Well it was for Chaz! At least he was closer to the front this time around.

The commentators were now saying wait until Assen, a different track and one that Rae is very fond of. They mentioned that it was rumored that during the testing in Aragon, Ducati was trying out a rev limited version of the engine. They didn’t say what the limit was but that Ducati are anticipating getting hit with a rev limit.

Other than Alvaro checking out again in all 3 races, there was some excellent racing for the podium. Rea had to ride the wheels off the Kawi, and was brilliant to take 3 2nd places. Especially race 1 where he started at 10th position. Chaz is definitely feeling better and using the Duc power on the straights. If Yamaha finds just a bit more power they will be taking 2nd place podiums. I don't think anyone will beat the Duc until they rev limit that engine, just to fast to catch.

I think it should have been more like 750-1000 rpm's.

But the 250 along with how Assen is lay out should make it a tighter race for the front.

Not that FP1 dictates too much but Rae topped the time sheets in FP1 1.35.598, MVD was second, Sykes 3rd and the factory Ducati’s 4&5 (Bautista 1.35.915 and Davies 1.35.970).

I think Rea will push the Kawi to the limit and beyond to take these races. He knows that if he does not start to win a few that Bautista will run away with the championship. This is a better track for the Kawi. Watch out for Sam though.......

I have my doubts. The Ducati package is too strong currently. Alvaro and Ducati won't win every race, but at the end, it won't be that close.
