Mystery Thing In My Gas Tank

    So anybody recognize this thing I found at the bottom of my '02 fuel tank. Can't find anything on the parts diagram resembling it. I suspect it's some sort of snake oil "performance enhancer." Those are non-magnetic metal cones inside the plastic case.

    If it was that easy, and it actually worked, I'm pretty sure big oil would have bought them out and quietly shelved the entire product. The case studies and supporting data sheets on their website don't really show it doing much of anything of value, I guess you could say it's something that just rolls around in the tank to knock the rust off.
