Do the little toll transmitter sticker things work through the plastic windscreen of the VFR? I'm thinking of getting a GatorPass (as seen at the link below) and I'd like to stick it to the upper inside portion of my stock windscreen. I have one for my car's glass windshield but I have a vague recollection of having read somewhere that they don't work through plastic.

I can't imagine why it wouldn't work through a little plastic.
Stick it on and see of you get a ticket in the mail! :homer:

Well according to this Reddit thread I just found it looks like you don't get a ticket in the mail anymore - they just take a photo of your tag and charge the toll to the epass account registered to the tag. So I guess it doesn't really matter if my transmitter is read or not. Interestingly, the guy who started the thread claims to have read the same thing I did about the transmitters not working through plastic.

Why not check with the manufacturers of the equipment?

According to the Reddit thread I found above they do toll by plate with no penalty so my question is kind of moot - my plate is already linked to my vehicle account so I don’t really need a transponder for my bike. But if anyone knows the answer to the original question please feel free to opine.

My gawd, GG! You need to get outta that place and go live in some mountains and twisties! They don't collect tolls there either. After I wax my car this morning, I'm going to hit the twisties beginning at the end of my driveway....which goes up a mountain to get to the street. So cool. Just thought I would rub it in....; ).

Gee thanks! I’m gonna check out some nice roads up in the Ocala National Forest tomorrow - should be fun.

Yes, it works on my bike. Although, some tolls in NY don’t see my bike as a vehicle.

Yes, it works on my bike. Although, some toll plazas don’t recognize my bike as a vehicle, so it still doesn’t work.

Car windshields are a mix of glass and plastic. Should work just fine.

I don’t know why, but it says on their FAQ’s that the E-Pass stickers can’t be used on motorcycles - see link and quote below:

So you have the sticker type epass on your windscreen and it only works at certain toll plazas? Do they send you a bill in the mail with a pic of your plate?

The bridge toll has a gate, so I go to the cash lane and hand the person the expats.
